Following a a preview into the sneaker collection last month, SneakersBR offers a look into its “Spreading Sneaker Culture Throughout Brazil” event from few days back, thrown in conjunction with Nike Sportswear. The entire initiative surrounds the spreading of sneaker culture throughout the country of Brazil, produced through a series of videos documenting the various regions of the country and their cultural aspects. Below is a bit more information on the project.

The project involves a series of videos in which personalities from nine capitals of the five regions of Brazil introduce their cities, showing part of the regional and cultural aspects of each. For the task, Vinicius Popó, blogger and graffiti artist was summoned. On the trip, he will record testimonials, speak to various people and spread the sneaker culture throughout different parts of the country. In his luggage Popó will carry five special editions of Nike Dunk Lows produced at Nike ID Studio, promoting yet another joint action between SneakersBR and Nike Sportswear, as was the launch of Air Max 1 Quickstrike ‘Lanceiro in 2009.

Each sneaker version represents one of the five geographical regions of Brazil. A special additional insole illustrated by Popó comes with each version, honoring the cities that he will visit on this first edition. The collection has a special limited edition of 12 pairs for each region’s version that will be distributed exclusively among the personalities recorded for the project’s videos.

SneakersBR and Nike Sportswear present the project “Spreading Sneaker Culture Throughout Brazil”, by launching a special collection of Dunk Low models to celebrate the three year partnership between the brand and the website. The first medium in Brazil to exclusively address sneaker culture, the website founded in Recife in 2007, now releases a new version with more news features and content on the sports footwear market.

A special additional insole illustrated by Popó comes with each version, honoring the cities that he will visit on this first edition: green for North – with Belém and Manaus prints on the insole, yellow for Northeast – honoring Recife and Salvador, gray for Midwest as a tribute to Niemeyer’s designs in Brasília, white for the Southeast, showing Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and their mix of the country’s regions, and finally, blue representing the South, with patterns inspired by Florianópolis and Porto Alegre.

Each model comes in a special nylon bag, along with a Nike Sportswear T-shirt, five pairs of shoelaces and a metallic laceclip with the SneakersBR logo. The collection has a special limited edition of 12 pairs for each region’s version that will be distributed exclusively among the personalities recorded for the project’s videos.

Starting on September 8th, the videos will be released weekly at SneakersBR, Nike Sportswear and major social networks websites. On the same day, a special event launching the project “Spreading Sneaker Culture throughout Brazil,” will be held at the Nike Sportswear’s store of Pinheiros, São Paulo.

Following up on a very well put together campaign with Nike, Brazilian sneaker website Sneakers BR continue their footwear designs with a new pack of kicks alongside Diadora. Two different versions will be available, each limited to 24 pairs, distributed to SneakersBR family and friends this month.

SneakersBR and Diadora proudly presents the ‘SneakersBR – The Cloud Pack’. The shoes use 2 classic silhouettes from the 80s, the Speciale, a court shoe from basketball and the Jogging, a retro runner. The main theme for the pack is “The Cloud’, SneakersBR mascot: “from the first SneakerSBR layout, 2 years ago, we wanted a mascot, something like a toy, not beautiful but pop at same time. “The Cloud” came to us almost accidentally but we really liked its style and colors.

Diadora is a brand that is on the game since the the 50s, created by Marcello Danieli in Italy. The brand have begun its story on sports market on the 70s sponsoring tennis players and also moving later to other sports like athletic, soccer and automobilist, supporting names like Sebastian Coe, Niki Lauda, Allain Prost, Zico and Ayrton Senna. The 2 last names were icons of Brazilian sports history and Diadora is recovering part of this story and the link with Brazilian sneaker market with the Diadora 80 project reworking some of the best shoes from that golden age. Following up on our preview of the collaboration between SneakersBR and Nike sometime back, we now get a closer look into the Special Edition version of their project. The shoes are featured in a commemorative lasered wooden box, with various additional goodies and matching t-shirt. Only 30 of these packs were produced, being given to friends and family of the Brazilian sneaker website, SneakersBR.

Having been the subject of their very own Nike collaboration in the Air Max 1 “Lanceiro”, Brazilian sneaker site Sneakers.BR kicked things off with their very own release party at retailer Homegrown. Something involving much planning, the party culminated in not only the showcasing of the shoes but also various pieces of art on display by Big, Bragga, Ment, Mateu Velasco, Nhaf, Vagner do Nascimento e João Burle.

SneakersBR gives us a closer look into their collaboration with Nike on the timeless Air Max 1 silhouette. The kicks celebrate the Brazilian sneaker website’s 2nd Anniversary since it was transformed into a full fledged website by founder Ricardo Nunes. Entitled the Lanceiro, this limited edition AM1 celebrates the culture of Pernambuco (the home state of SneakersBR) and the Manguebeat musical movement. Features include a blue leather upper symbolizing the flag of Pernambuco, a yellow air capsule symbolizing the sun, and speckled midsole which is a reminder of the mud and mangroves of the swamps, vital icons of the state’s culture that “baptized” the Manguebeat movement. Capping off the design is a heel tab featuring the emblematic phrase of Chico Science “Um Passo à Frente e Você Já Não Está Mais No Mesmo Lugar” (One step ahead and you’re no longer in the same place). Launching as a quickstrike release, the kicks look to drop worldwide at select top tier Nike accounts soon. An even more distinctive edition, in a wooden package, will be distributed amongst influencers from around the globe in June 2009, the same time as a “Brazil Only” release.
