Stussy offer us a glimpse into Japanese photographer Tomonori “RIP” Tanaka’s American tour with the following Ripzinger West Americanized Tour video. Involving both photography and RIP’s own personal commentary, he discusses his photographic style, the execution of his photos while skating rather than walking or biking and his travels.

As part of its continuously growing and ever-so popular Black Beauty collection, Head Porter design a new camera holster alongside legendary Japanese skateboarder and photographer Rip Zinger. Produced in a matte black finish, the case comes equipped with a carabiner and coincides with the Ricoh GR Digital III’s complementary, no-frills, black colorway. Having been one of the marquee collaborations thus far for the Stussy XXX 30th anniversary collection, Ricoh and Stussy went a step further to combine product and art as a group of notable creatives were each given a camera to document their lives. This was shown through a series of photographic sets involving Angela Boatwright, Kenneth Capello, Reggie Casagrande, Josh Chews, Atiba Jefferson, Tyrone Lebon, Ari Marcopoulos, Puente Yuan, Peter Sutherland and Rip Zinger. Starting Wednesday, April 14th, the photographs will be put on display at the San-Ai Dream Center in Tokyo until April 25th. Each photograph will be sold and limited to a run of 50 prints.

Following up on our early preview of his upcoming book launch, Japanese photographer Rip Zinger announces the opening of his new exhibition, taking place at the Slope Gallery in Tokyo. The show looks to feature photo’s from Tomonori Tanaka aka Rip Zinger’s time in New York City, the basis of his upcoming book by the same name. An opening is scheduled for September 30th, running through November 11th, 2009.

Following his highly successful release last year– the “West Americanized Tour” for Stussy– influential Japanese photographer Rip Zinger returns with a new effort, entitled “New York City”. The book features photography from Zinger’s travels to the Big Apple, including a multitude of city shots and skate photography. Check out a preview of what’s in store:

Taking place at the Harajuku Stussy store, Rip Zingers book titled West Americanized Tour, was celebrated with a release party. The photo book came about from Tomonori Tanaka aka Rip Zinger’s perspective on the West Coast skate scene while taking a tour to California. Gaining inspirations from some of the greats, Rip’s photography gives off a passionate vibe much like the artist himself. For those that missed out on our recent coverage, Stussy teamed up with Rip on a set of tees while a short video was produced as well.

Working alongside Japanese photographer and skater, Tomonori Tanaka aka “Rip”, Stussy will be releasing a set of tees. Featured will be Tanaka’s photography from his new book titled West Americanized Tour which consists of photographs documenting his travels across the West Coast of the US. Rip Zinger, renamed after his new found love for Krooked’s Zip Zinger board, spent a good amount of time capturing California’s beautiful sights. All six tees featuring those sights from the book are set to release September 13th, 2008, retailing for ￥6,300 a piece while the book cover shot tee will retail for ￥6,090.
