Just recently, Coachella has announced this year’s official lineup through its Twitter account. Headlined by The Black Keys, Radiohead and Dr. Dre & Snoop Dogg, the roster also includes some notable acts to hit the stage including Childish Gambino, The Weeknd, araabMUZIK, Frank Ocean, A$AP Rocky, Odd Future, SBTRKT and Kendrick Lamar. For the first time however, the SoCal event will be held for two consecutive weekends (April 13-15 and April 20-22) with the same lineup.

A few days ago it was officially announced that an intriguing new project was said to be in the works with DOOM and Radiohead. Today, we get a first glimpse of that project as hip-hop’s masked villain sets forth the first official single with Thom Yorke & Johnny Greenwood titled “Retarded Fren.” Check it out below and let us know what you think as we’ll hit you up with more details on the project as information becomes available.

English alternative band, Radiohead reemerges onto the music scene to confirm this new single as one of their own. Just a few days prior, the record made it’s way around the internet leaving much speculation, but now it’s confirmed as the group officially releases the song via Wasteshop. Entitled, “These Are My Twisted Words” the song is vocal-free and highlights Radiohead’s trademark unconvential yet abstract style. Check it out.

The pitch perfect feedback and violent guitar crunch intertwined with pop melody on “The Bends” showed that Radiohead was more than just a good band, but rather one that was maturing and teetering on greatness. The dense sonic paranoia and electronic mesh of “OK Computer” proved that Radiohead was perhaps the only band that mattered at the time and jumpstarted the whispers of “genius”. Those same whispers have now culminated into loud acclimations as the beautifully haunting “In Rainbows” has cemented their legacy and proved their longevity. Radiohead realized a while back that the key to consistency was not just experimentation but full out reinvention.

The band has constantly reinvented their sound, the way we purchase and consume music and now even the way we look at music videos. The brilliant new video for “House of Cards” uses no cameras or lights. “Geometric Informatics scanning systems produce structured light to capture 3D images at close proximity, while a Velodyne Lidar system that uses multiple lasers is used to capture large environments such as landscapes. In this video, 64 lasers rotating and shooting in a 360 degree radius 900 times per minute produced all the exterior scenes.” Watch in amazement.
