Nylon TV put together a short video interview with Dee & Ricky who have garnered much attention for their LEGO-centric accessories. Topics within the interview include the start of their eponymous label, their recent CASIO G-SHOCK collaboration and what the duo would like to design in the future.

Introducing the Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Collection.

It all began after a non-stop flight from New York to Beaverton that brought NYLON Magazine to Nike’s Innovation Summit. After a visit to Nike’s campus, the Innovation Kitchen, and meeting some of our top designers, a friendship was born. It is from this friendship that a dialogue between NYLON and Nike Design would come to result in a project that stands as a true collaboration between two partners determined to express themselves in the best way they know how – through design.

“We have always been a big supporter of the Nike brand and all that it stands for, says NYLON’s Editor-in-Chief, Marvin Scott Jarrett. “Just as Nike has grown beyond being just a running shoe, NYLON has come to mean more than just a magazine. That commonality is what brings us together.” From a shared obsession with pushing boundaries and embracing the rebel spirit necessary to be truly innovative, the Nike Dunk Hi and the Nike Windrunner were chosen for its reputation as just that, a rebel on the street.

Introduced on the basketball court in 1985, the Nike Dunk Hi evolved to become a symbol of self expression. Along with the Nike Windrunner, these icons of Nike’s design heritage have bridged the gap between sport and culture. “The Dunk has been a part of so many diverse cultures, stories, and movements. Bringing NYLON and the Nike Dunk Hi together is another great chapter in the Dunk’s history,” says Jesse Leyva, Design Director of Nike Sportswear.

Crafted in nylon with reflective details that spell out the magazine’s name, the bold Pink, Blue, Orange, Yellow, and Green hues were chosen because they are bold, modern, and ever present within the pages of the magazine. Following suit, the apparel design team fashioned the Nike Windrunner in the same tonal colors adding a piece to a collection that demands attention.

The Nike Dunk Nylon Hi and the Nike Windrunner are not meant for the shy at heart.

The Nylon Magazine x Nike Sportswear Collection released on June 20th, 2009. The Pink and Green colorways are exclusively available at Urban Outfitters locations across the country. The remainder of the colors can be found at locations including Niketown, Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer, Nike Sportswear at The Montalban, and Nikestore.com.

NYLON TV gives us a brief look into a photo session they did alongside multi-faceted musician/actor Common. Among the various topics, the Chi-Town native speaks of his respect for Nas, who he would like to portray in a film, and what hes been up to recently. Definitely a nice clip into the everyday hustle of one of Hip-Hop’s most respected artists.

NYLON Magazine will auction off five of its recently recent collaboration Nike Dunks in Mexico tomorrow. With proceeds going towards Proyecto Meteoro, the end result will hopefully benefit a wealth of homeless children living in substandard conditions in Mexico. The NYLON x Nike Sportswear Dunk High is based on an aptly chosen nylon upper with tonal prints of NYLON across the side. Five colors include green, red, blue, yellow, orange and pink.

The result of NYLON Magazine’s recent photoshoot will soon be seen within the pages of their May 2009 issue. Amongst the chosen participants in the spread are Dee & Ricky, Pegleg, and various others rocking the NYLON x Nike Sportswear Dunk His. As mentioned before, the kicks will see a release June 1st via select Nike retailers including Urban Outfitters.

NYLON Magazine works up a new behind the scenes video of their photoshoot for the upcoming NYLON x Nike Dunk collaboration. The brightly-clad sneakers will see a release on June 1st, 2009 in a handful of neon colorways. The collection looks like it’ll be available at select Nike retailers which include Urban Outfitters stores.

Having made their rounds around New York Fashion for the past few days, we get a closer look at the collaboration sneakers with Nylon Magazine and Nike Sportswear. LA-based photographer Mark “The Cobrasnake” Hunter, was seen rocking the lime green pair last night at the Erin Wasson x RVCA Fall 2009 Collection presentation. The kicks are scheduled for a June 2009 launch in a few vibrant colorways although they will surely remain a womens release.

The ladies are afforded an all new collaboration to call their own as fashion magazine Nylon hooks up with Nike Sportswear on an upcoming Dunk High. The shoe references Nylon’s name literally and takes on a nylon-upper much like the previously seen Vandal x Dunk Highs. The last however is based on the women’s only skinny Dunk High with a tongue tag featuring a multi-colored Nylon logo. The shoe was originally previewed a few days ago and has been seen around New York’s Fashion Week with further looks to come in March’s Nylon issue.

Women’s fashion magazine Nylon has hinted at an upcoming team-up with Nike Sportswear on the Dunk High. Having previously seen a nylon Dunk inspired by the Vandal, this particular collaboration seems to be on a similar tip with two colorways revealed. A full look is slated for the April issue of Nylon.

With Pharrell Williams adorning the upcoming issue of Nylon Magazine, the publication went the further distance creating a short video. Highlighting both his subsequent photoshoots and his philosophies on various aspects of his life, the video is a short but interesting look into the successful artist’s personality and demeanor.
