Today we received word of Nikon’s latest entry level DSLR, the D3200, which will surely become a best seller among its in-class counterparts. Capable of shooting full HD 1080p video, this releasing budget camera will also feature a 24 megapixel sensor and an in-camera guide mode that shows users step-by-step instructions on how to change camera settings. Making picture uploads to your favorite social network site a breeze, the D3200 will also allow users to take pictures and send them wirelessly to a Wi-Fi-equipped smartphone or tablet when used with the new optional WU-1a wireless mobile adapter. Nikon is no stranger to utilizing the short film medium to showcase the video capabilities of their latest pieces of ingenuity. For the D4, they enlisted visual storyteller Corey Rich for “Why.” This time around they’ve called upon single name photographer/filmmaker Sandro to give the D800 a whirl in the short, “Joy Ride.” Shot using a variety of different lighting conditions, and at times during fast-moving shots, it’s clear that the D800 is something to truly marvel at. While Nikon won’t be releasing the “mini-D4″ camera that a lot of fans were anticipating, the 36.3 megapixel D800 SLR delivers for photographers working in the studio or other controlled environments. Nikon’s D800 has an ISO range of 100 to 6400, 91K RGB 3D color metering, razor quick auto focus, a 3-inch 921k-dot LCD screen, and B-frame data compression allowing for up to thirty minutes of video recording. For those who aren’t too disappointed with Nikon’s release, the camera will be available in March for $3000 USD.

Nikon’s newest flagship professional camera, the D4, gets a premature release ahead of tomorrow’s slated official drop. Immune to the megapixels war, a 16MP sensor will allow for ISO ranges between 100-12,800 (expandable to 50-204,800). Other details including a 51-point autofocus system, 100% viewfinder coverage, 910,000 point metering system and 1080p video recording.

Nikon has finally announced its much-rumored mirrorless camera range. The V1 and J1 will be the first two cameras to release, both producing 10.1 megapixel stills and 1080p video at 30fps. Whilst the J1 has a built-in flash and auto-noise reduction on video, the V1 supports an external flash, has a mechanical shutter, stereo microphone input, and a magnesium alloy chassis. A North American release date has been set for October 20 with both cameras coming bundled with a 10-30mm lens. Retail for the J1 will be $649.95 USD and $899.95 for the V1.

The camera is equipped with a new CMOS image sensor and a new image-processing engine, EXPEED 2, that enable capture of high-definition images exhibiting superior image quality. It also offers a number of advanced high-performance features packed into a compact, elegant body. The D7000 is equipped with a new Nikon DX-format CMOS image sensor and a new image-processing engine, EXPEED 2. The camera offers an effective pixel count of 16.2-million pixels and enables capture of high-definition images exhibiting superior image quality with extremely detailed rendering and rich tones with smooth gradations. With standard sensitivity range of ISO100 – 6400 and additional increases up to Hi 2 (ISO 25600 equivalent), the camera offers improved capability with shooting under dim lighting, such as in the evening or indoors, and also expands possibilities for expression with rapidly moving subjects.

EXPEED 2 is Nikon’s latest image-processing engine developed with the ideas, know-how and technologies regarding digital images that Nikon has cultivated over the years. A new 2,016-pixel RGB metering sensor

With 2,016 pixels, the new metering sensor developed for the D7000 offers twice the metering pixels as our previous high-end metering sensor. Prior to shooting, the 2,016-pixel RGB sensor acquires accurate information regarding the scene. That information is then reflected in autofocusing, automatic exposure, i-TTL balanced fill-flash, and auto white balance control for extremely faithful images.

A new 39-point AF system

Adoption of the new Multi-CAM4800DX autofocus sensor module enables certain acquisition and tracking of the intended subject with 39 focus points.
Nine cross-type sensors at the most frequently used center of the frame allow for certain acquisition of the intended subject.
In addition, the number of active focus points can also be limited to 11.

D-Movie for recording and editing of full HD movies

The D7000 is equipped with the D-Movie function that enables recording of high-definition movies (1920 × 1080p, 24 fps) exhibiting superior video quality. Autofocusing during movie recording is possible using contrast-detect AF. When the focus mode is set to Full time-servo AF (AF-F) and the AF-area mode to Subject-tracking AF, the camera automatically maintains focus on a subject moving throughout the frame in three dimensions. Nikon announces the release of its COOLPIX P7000, the latest flagship model in the COOLPIX series. The P7000 is a fun camera that incorporates advanced shooting functions with a feel similar to that of digital SLR cameras, in a compact, lightweight body. A classic compact digital camera, the P7000 offers advancements in image quality, shooting functions and operation over its predecessor, the COOLPIX P6000.

The P7000 offers an effective pixel count of 10.1 million pixels.
