A mainstay of this season’s post-season NBA ad campaign featuring the trio of Puppet LeBron James, Puppet Kobe Bryant and Lil Dez, the lovable nerdy character enjoys his own signature sneaker with the Big Nike. The Dunk-esque sneaker features a tonal red upper with a purple lining with the words “Congrats Kobe!” scrawled on the side as well as LIL DEZ on the heels. In celebration of American culture and some of the communities whom have shaped its identity, Nike Sportswear takes two of its basketball icons, the Big Nike and the Nike Blazer, to create a pack that honors those chosen cities. Long Beach, New York, Chicago, and Atlanta are the starting point for this collection of footwear, inspired by the cultural cues that makes them legendary. Using the colors of the cities’ sport icons and their spirit of style, this pack shows what it means to rep your hood. The Big Nike and Nike Blazer City Pack is available now. Nike Sportswear at 21 Mercer is the only retailer in the US to receive the complete pack. Each regions’ style is available exclusively in the city featured on the shoe.

Paying tribute to the LBC, Nike works up a special Long Beach edition of their resurrected Big Nike basketball silhouette. The sneakers are given upper combining perforated leather and patent leather with Black/White and Purple highlights and an LBC stamp on the heel. A release can be expected tomorrow Saturday, September 26th at Proper in Long Beach, who themselves will be celebrating the occasion with a matching New Era cap.

Reworking their staple Eggplant motif yet again, Nike gives their Big Nike model a makeover with an all-new colorway for Fall. The basketball kicks receive shinny tonal Eggplant upper with black accents nestled atop black midsoles with contrast stitching and speckled outsoles. A release can be expected this month at Footlocker retail locations.

Perhaps even hotter than the “Fred” version from The Flintstones inspired pack are these Nike “Dino” Big High sneakers. Here’s what More Say had to say about these shoes.

Adding a bit of nostalgic cartoon spunk to their lineup, Nike works up a new pair of their Big Nike’s, inspired by the Hanna-Barbera classic, The Flintstones. In what could possibly be just one sneaker out of a bigger pack, these Big Nike’s follow the color scheme closely associated with the man of the house, Fred Flintstone. The kickss feature a mostly white base with blue accenting to reflect Fred’s tie and a pattern showcasing Fred’s outfit, although not as precise as the original. Nike bone lettering on the heel caps off an interesting arrangement from the sportswear brand. Stay tuned for release details as they become available. Available now at Osneaker.

Paying tribute to Houston, the home of the Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center, Nike works up another House of Hoops exclusive, this time utilizing their resurrected Big Nike model. The kicks take after a space theme including a mostly silver upper with hits of silver on the heel alongside a planetary ring logo. Other features include specked outsoles resembling stars and a shiny swoosh to top it off.

Utilizing two classic models in their Air Max 95 and Big Nike, Nike works up a new pack of sneakers paying tribute to the newly released X-Men Origins: Wolverine film. The kicks take obvious inspiration from the protagonist, Wolverine, and villain Sabertooth. Various features includes both characters trademark details including textural textiles and prints. The pack is now available at select Nike Quickstrike retailers including Proper.

Implementing more of a fashionable approach to the return of their Big Nike basketball sneaker, Nike Sportswear works up a new brown plaid colorway, aimed a bit more towards the fashionista demographic in comparison to the two-tone traditional color schemes we’ve been previewing. The kicks feature a full grain finish touched up with textural elements and accented with a red swoosh and plaid detailing. A release is slated for November 2009 at Footlocker accounts.

With a load of releases scheduled to hit Nike’s retail accounts, Proper gives a look into some of their new in-store drops. A variety of Air Max’s see some new colorways including the Air Max 90, Air Max 1 and Tailwind 92′s. Along with the runners, a new woven Blazer makes an appearance as well as the return of Nike’s Big Nike, originally making its debut in ’85 on the feet of NBA giant Manute Bol.
