Enzo G. Castellari, cult Italian director of ’70s exploitation movies, introduces us to a hidden treasure taken from his filmography, Milano Kalibro Kobe. The short movie, discovered in the basement of the director’s house, tells the story of the epic struggle between law enforcement and a gang of ruthless thieves, and how the battle between good and evil takes a turn for the better thanks to the intervention of Black Mamba – international man of action and incredible baller. Key Italian athletes play prominent in this classic, with appearances by Alberto Aquilani, Marco Belinelli, Gennaro Gattuso, Claudio Marchisio, Marco Materazzi and Giampaolo Pazzini.

Pigalle Paris has set up the “Amateur Basketball” project whose aim is to support basketball teams that have both a strong sports and social background. For their first initiative Pigalle has chosen their local team, Goutte d’Or, from nearby Barbès, to remake their uniforms. Stéphane Ashpool, who created the project, has collaborated with the Dutch filmmaker Paul Geusbroek on a video made in Barbès which documents the unique energy of this multiracial neighborhood with the added help of Nike Stadium Paris and Bowery Stadium. “BARBÉS BASKETBALL” is an imagery driven and powerful statement from Pigalle.

The seventh level and pinnacle of the KobeSystem is dubbed “Success at Success.” In this spot from Nike Basketball, business magnate Richard Branson wonders where else he can possibly go as a man who has already traveled from the depths of the ocean floor to the far reaches of outer space. However, as the Black Mamba reiterates, Branson has yet to reach his full potential: “You can do better. I know you can. Good luck to you Richard Branson. Make me proud.”

The KobeSystem enters its sixth level, Beastion. This latest spot finds the Black Mamba schooling Kanye West on breaking records, becoming more successful and being the best, even if its something he may not want to hear. Day five of the KobeSystem seminar finds all-time-great wide receiver Jerry Rice getting a lesson in “domination” from the Black Mamba himself. The following things should be dominated: the paint, art, breakfast, cross-overs, karate, the galaxy, waffles, weather, REM sleep, music, aliens, books on tape, press conferences, the sun, kickflips and ninjas. Class is in session for day four of the KobeSystem, which has already seen Aziz Ansari, Serena Williams and Wang Leehom get lessons in success, adaptation and perception. Notable motivational speaker Tony Robbins is next in Kobe Bryant’s crosshairs as he teaches him that explosiveness shouldn’t come at the cost of having to choose between attacking fast or attacking strong. In the time it took to write this post, we’ve just cost Kanye West two million dollars. Apologize to Kanye West.

Day 3 of the KobeSystem seminar finds the Black Mamba schooling multi-talented Chinese megastar, Wang Leehom about the idea of “perception.” Through a series of pictures on screen, Leehom quickly learns that becoming a “system” is where true enlightenment is found. The former MVP gives the former Wimbledon champ a lesson in adaptation, using a meteor versus the dinosaurs as a metaphor for the aforementioned ability to change.
