Nike drops a new colorway in its iconic Air Presto for Summer 2011. The kicks boast a volt and black base with white midsoles and black outsoles. Additionally the laces are given the hiking style look with a two-tone black and volt treatment that adds some contrast to the silhouette. For those interested, these are now available through Titolo.

New from Nike comes an iteration of their always-popular Air Presto in a nice-looking Wolf Grey colorway, accented by crimson and anthracite details. The Presto is one of Nike’s lightest and most form-fitting sneakers, featuring a dynamic synthetic stretch upper in mesh, a thermoplastic cage designed for ultimate foot support, and a patented Nike Air Phylon midsole among other technological advances. Although a rather unusual choice for a summer release – as most Nike kicks dropped in the warmer months tend to be brightly-adorned in neon colors – these Wolf Grey Prestos are actually quite understated and versatile, easily matching most gym or casual outfits. Although not so summer-friendly, the dark palette makes for quite a versatile silhouette and its overall lightweight construction gives it plenty of room for various wears. Originally designed by Nike Innovation Kitchen’s head honcho Tobie Hatfield, the creation of the release in the first half of the 2000s would lay the foundation for other monumental developments for the sportswear brand. Stating that the Presto helped pave the way for the likes of Nike’s Free segment, the Presto has been sparingly released in the last few seasons with a new batch slated for Spring/Summer 2011. Featuring its breathable mesh upper, Air unit and T-shirt-esque sizing, some bold and bright colors will make for some perfect summer sneakers.

Previewed is an upcoming Spring/Summer version of Nike’s beloved Air Presto. The kicks feature a mostly burnt orange upper, highlighted with vibrant orange accents and black midsoles. A release can be expected soon through select Nike accounts.

A lightweight dream for your feet, Nike Sportswear’s seasonal collection includes this “Cyber” colorway of the Air Presto. The Brazil-esque colorway combines a mostly yellow upper with green hits on the laces, lining and outsole. Available soon at select Nike Sportswear retailers.

Having seen the 2009 re-release of the Air Presto beginning with a series of single colored offerings, we see some new variations for the summer. A USA-esque version comes in blue, red and white while another version features black and mint green. Available now at mita.

Before Nike developed their Free technology, the Air Presto set the standard for the most comfortable, lightweight and durable sneakers on the market at the time. Nearly a decade later, Nike re-introduces the Air Presto in its original and iconic form. A load of colors are scheduled to release this year with a pair of red tonal joints now available at select Nike retailers including atmos.

One of Nike’s best running styles within the last few years, the sock-like comfort of the Presto is due for a return in 2009. Preliminary scans and looks only feature this simple black colorway however, given the printable nature of the Presto’s synthetic upper, we expect some bright colors to develop and surface in the near future. An anticipated release date has been slated for Japan with no word yet on the rest of the world.
