Converse gives us a look into the brand’s continued collaboration with premium Italian label Missoni, this time focused on the iconic Auckland Racer – a design initially introduced in the 1970s. Carrying a darker palette than the spring variation showed some months back, this upcoming installment boasts a woven fusion of black, greys and coppers, with white outsoles adding some contrast. With Milan Fashion Week in full effect, Missoni unveiled its latest collection for the Fall/Winter 2012 season. Featuring a host of knit pieces, outerwear and suiting, the collection sees a wide array of textures and patterns. Notable amongst the arrangement is a heather grey, double-breasted suit as well as several items styled with the Jacquard and zigzag patterns that have become so recognizable from the Missoni label. The color palette is characterized by a host of muted greens, blues and greys. Converse launches the third limited collection of Missoni for Converse Chuck Taylor All Star shoes for men and women. Continuing on the success of the 2010 collaboration between Converse and Missoni, two new styles are being released by these iconic brands for the upcoming 2011 season. Again using iconic Missoni space-dyed knits, this collection includes vibrant multicolored horizontal stripe patterns using the exclusive Converse First String Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette, originally created for the U.S. military in the 1960s. Each shoe will be available in limited quantities beginning in March at Missoni boutiques (New York and Beverly Hills), Aloha Rag (New York), Canvas (Malibu) and Jeffrey’s (New York and Atlanta), and also at select retailers globally at $200 USD.

Missoni’s Fall/Winter 2011 collection took the runway these last few days. With its traditions nestled firmly in the realm of knitwear, it comes as no obvious surprise its emphasis. Subtle colors were often interjected with speckles of color and contrast with smart fitting slacks and pants. Continuing with the success of their Spring 2010 collaboration, Converse and Missoni link up for two new Fall 2010 styles. The result includes updated versions of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star shoe with black and white space dyed knits covering the sides and toecap, finished off with soft sheep leather in “Missoni Brick Red” on the split tongue, heel pull tab and partially lined collar – all brand new updates for the Fall 2010 silhouette. Due to the unique space dyed technique used this season, each shoe is one of a kind as the knits are carefully spun to vary from piece to piece.

Part of Converse First String, the brand’s most premium tier product program, the collaboration uses the exclusive-to-First String version of the iconic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette originally created for the military in the 1960s. This season, two patterns round out the Fall offering; one being a single bed space dyed knit displaying bold horizontal stripes, while the other silhouette is outfitted in the notorious Missoni zigzag pattern, created by a unique technique called Raschel revived by the Missoni house in the late ‘60s for high-end fashion. The shoes will launch in early September at Missoni boutiques (New York and Beverly Hills), as well as other select retailers globally. Retail is set at $200 USD.

With 2011 Spring/Summer previews pouring in we get a peek into some knits, featured within the upcoming collection from high end Italian label Missoni. Several different shirts, cardigans, and knit vests are seen, all taking on intricate patterns (a Missoni trademark) and vibrant hues throughout. Certainly a good amount of interesting looks.
