German basketball-centric footwear label K1X recently kicked off their “4 Elements 4 Icons 4 Basketballs” campaign as it brings together four different artists to interpret the four elements over the medium of a basketball. First up is Marok and the element of water. Watch the video to get a rundown of his involvment in the project as he looks to influences such as TRON for inspiration. The 4 Elements 4 Icons 4 Basketballs also includes Bill McMullen (Fire), Mode2 (Earth) and Frank151 featuring Stay High 149 (Air). 444 units will be available only at select retailers worldwide.

Continuing with their artist series previews, Stockholm-based label WeSC introduces three additional artists that will be a part of the brand’s 2009 Fall/Winter Collection. Included in this batch are Marok, Delta, and the return of Stash. Like the Kazuki and Madsaki collection, this set finds each artist developing their own designs on a t-shirt template as well as a crewneck/hoody.

In a meeting of Australian and German creativity, Berlin’s Marok teams up with sunglass makers Colab on a series of frames. Colab’s premise has always been to align itself with select individuals in the creative sphere seeing a number of strong pieces over its short span. The Marok collection includes three styles seen here, the Superstring, M1 and 9-1-1. Each feature a nice contemporary update to some classic offerings with some non-run of the mill color schemes. The BMW M1 is a particularly interesting piece. Available now at The-Glade.

Catching up with Berlin-based publisher/artist Marok, High Snobiety interviews the man behind one of Nike’s 1World designs. Marok briefs us on the 1World campaign as well as his chosen sneaker design. Check it out!

German artist Thoma Marecki aka Marok has been long known for his work in the graphic design and graffiti fields as well as publishing and art directing Lodown Magazine, which he established in 1995. Finding his niche in the European market with various mediums, he now has been chosen as one of the high profile collaborators in Nike’s 1World project. His rendition of the classic Air Force 1 model features a slick seamless upper with some interesting textiles choices and a visible air heel unit. The shoes are scheduled to release December 13th, 2008 at Nort Berlin.
