New Era Japan has a collaborative banner year ahead, having lent its name and hat blueprints to 38 streetwear brands for Spring/Summer 2012. New Era’s staple flat brims, snapbacks, fitted caps and castros are all part of this massive collaboration collection that includes names like BAPE, BEAMS, Carhartt WIP, FTC, SOPHNET., Thrasher and Vision Street Wear. Some of these hats will be available at the New Era online store, while others can be purchased from their respective stockists.

As its name suggests, the Japanese fashion label Lafayette draws inspiration from the eclectic streetwear culture of New York. Fresh for its 2012 spring/summer collection, the nearly decade-old brand commissions a number of New York personalities for its video lookbook, including DJ Clark Kent, jeffstaple, Tony Touch, as well as Maffew Ragazino and Das Racist for the video’s title track, “Jackson Pollock,” produced by Harry Fraud. Showcasing American style as seen through a Japanese lens, this collection features a comprehensive range of goods from graphic T-shirts, zip hoodies and camo prints to chambray shorts, technical lightweight jackets and travel accessories. Lafayette’s 2012 spring/summer collection is currently available at select retailers worldwide.

The Less 2011 fall/winter video lookbook utilizes a theme of “going out” as a jumping off point for inspiration. The Taiwanese-based retailer showcases brands including Norse Projects, Bleu de Paname, Garbstore, Penfield, Carhartt, Pointer, 9five, Less and Lafayette. Japan’s Nine Rulaz Line and Lafayette have joined forces to produce a unique piece of outerwear with this Mountain Parka. The jacket features an overall urban aesthetic, while also retaining imperative functionality through weatherproof materialization. One intriguing aspect of the garb is the inner lining which contains 9 beers of the world imprinted throughout, while you will also notice a horizontal zipper unit as well as several accompanying pockets. The collaborative parka will retail for ¥31,290 JPY (approx. $400 USD).

Stussy and Lafayette have teamed up for another great collaboration to support the highly anticipated Tokyo exhibition by Jonathan Mannion. The respective names will be taking Mannion’s photographs beyond the gallery walls by releasing this set of photo print T-shirts. This exclusive merchandise set will feature photographs of hip-hop’s iconic subjects including Rakim, The Notorious B.I.G., 50 Cent, Jay-Z and Slick Rick printed on the front side of the T-shirt – all taken by Jonathan Mannion. The release of the T-shirts will drop in time with the start of the exhibition on September 17, 2011.

Japanese streetwear label Lafayette as the name suggests has had strong roots with New York City. Teaming up with Boundless NY and several of NY’s finest including legendary hip-hop photographer John Mannion, this video presents a behind-the-scenes look into the Fall/Winter 2011 collection. Personalities involved in the modeling process include Little Shawn, Vado, Maffew Ragazino, Will Millions-TNYC CINEMA, DJ Spinna and DJ Clark Kent. Rugged and unapologetic, Lafayette will be available stateside at Boundless NY.

DJ Clark Kent and Japanese streetwear label Lafayette are set to release an upcoming capsule. DJ Clark Kent is a name few need introduction, with influences spanning both hip-hop and sneakers, he puts his creative touches on pieces such as a New Era 59FIFTY fitted cap and a stadium jacket which pay tribute to Lafayette’s 7th anniversary.

With roots firmly planted in hip-hop, streetwear brand Lafayette commemorate 7 years in the business with a no holds barred collection that includes fitted caps, varsity jackets, graphic tees and sweaters, with camo pattern making an appearance on a few select items. Pete Rock and DJ Clark Kent, amongst other notable New York City residents and hip-hop personalities help model the looks in what turned out to be a very complete lookbook, stylistically speaking.

Japanese outfit Lafayette recently celebrated their 7th anniversary with the help of some friends from around the world. Based on the inspirations of Hip-Hop and skate culture, the brand has developed strong roots across the ocean and most notably in New York City. Joining the festivities were the legendary DJ Clark Kent & Paulies on a hat/t-shirt combo, DEADLINE, Acapulco Gold, Chatty Chatty, EOS and Irie Life. A video below also highlights the collection.

Japanese brand Lafayette has enlisted a range of respected Hip Hop artists to participate in their special mixtape-project to celebrate their seventh anniversary. Here comes Bun B’s contribution for the piece.
