In conjunction with the sculpture release announced last week, JonOne opened his “Throw-Up” exhibit at BKRW’s Paris location this past Friday. Showcasing the Harlem artisan’s iconic “throw-up” tags, the mini art project presents JonOne’s work in a number of new mediums, including rugs, paintings, sculptures and spring-loaded playground-styled signs. The exhibit will remain on display for a few more days at BKRW.

As graffiti artists constantly search for new mediums to expose their work and continue to push the boundary of art, artist JonOne teams up with editorial BKRW and toy company Artoyz to produce transparent vinyl sculptures of the Harlem artisans work. In conjunction with his exhibit, “Throw Up,” opening November 25, Artoyz is retailing a sculpture of the artisan’s famed tag. Limited to 100 per color variant and providing a meticulously designed contemporary piece for any setting, this exclusive release is currently available for Monday shipping at the Artoyz webstore.

Having masterminded a recent tribute to French revolutionary Abbe Pierre, New York-raised and Paris-based artist JonOne has held a passionate position regard his craft. In this short documentary, JonOne talks feverishly about his art, what it was like growing up and his experiences living in Paris.

Parisian street artist JonOne was commissioned by BDDP Unlimited to pay tribute to the four-year anniversary of the death of Abbé Pierre, a venerable member of the French Resistance during World War II. The artist painted a large mural of the priest that now adorns a wall of Square des Deux-Nèthes in Paris’s 18th arrondissement using excerpts from a speech delivered by the priest on Radio Luxembourg in 1954.

The Magda Danysz Gallery in Paris recently presented new works from JonOne. His everlasting support to street art is once again made clear, through this exhibition highlighting a series of works from the New York-based artist. JonOne is set to return before the close of the year, with his latest solo exhibition entitled “Abstractions”. As always, fans can expect an array of abstract paintings composed in a calligraphic style. After enjoying a recent retrospective in Switzerland, JonOne is in good form and should be perfectly poised to produce an interesting show. Working primarily in both canvas and paper, the exhibition opens at Caleri Magda Danysz in Paris on November 27 and is set to run until Christmas Eve.

The newest project from Parisian gallery Magda Danysz, 18Gallery brought a nice addition to the city of Shanghai.
