Medicom Toy in collaboration with Marvel’s The Avengers, introduces the Iron Man Mark VII Bearbrick 100%. In keeping with The Avengers Alliance Ironman Mark VII, the signature Bearbrick body receives a makeover akin to the suit’s red and gold metallic armor plating. Part of the Medicom Toy Exhibition 2012, the figure will be offered in both 100% and 400% sizes, standing 70mm and 280mm respectively. A release will begin on June 23.

As the premier date for The Avengers draws near, we are given yet another epic action-packed preview titled “Face Off.” In this video clip, the attention is turned towards the two advocates of justice: Iron Man and Thor, but this time they are pitted against each other. It’s brains vs. brawn in this fierce face-off as Iron Man played by Robert Downey Jr., and Thor portrayed by Chris Hemsworth, exchange blows. Adding a comical element to the video clip is the always colorful man behind the suit, Tony Stark. It will be exciting to see how the battle unfolds in the theater as this is one movie that should not be missed.

Since the antagonist’s initial appearance in Marvel’s 2008 blockbuster film Iron Man, fans have been clamoring for a collectible model of the villainous Iron Monger. Now, Hong Kong-based design studio Hot Toys rolls out a 1/6th-scale model of the iron juggernaut deriving every detail from the film; from each individual metal plate, light-up functions and weapons, to an opening chassis revealing a lifelike sculpt of Jeff Bridges as Obadiah Stone, the Iron Monger is sure to be a sell out amongst fans. The 12″ figure is available for pre-order at Sideshow Collectibles for $479.99 when it releases Spring of 2012.

Hong Kong-based toy brand Hot Toys continue on with their Iron Man licensed figures. Set at 1/6th the authentic height, Iron Man’s Mark V costume is the focus of this release. Highly accurate in its reproduction, the super hero includes LED lighting on the eyes and arms, interchangeable extremities and a suitcase. The figure also boasts a stand and nameplate for display.

Sideshow’s team collaborated with Legacy Effects to create this incredible half-scale maquette, which was used to develop the original screen-used costume, capturing the awesome detail of Iron Man’s legendary armor. Each piece is individually painted and finished, each with its own unique quality and detail that is the trademark of a handcrafted Sideshow Collectibles product. Standing approximately 40 inches high, the maquette is crafted of polystone, fiberglass, metal and other materials to best recreate the Iron Man armor as authentically as possible. LED light-up eyes and heart add incredible realism. The Iron Man 1:2 scale figure can now be purchased through Sideshow.

Hong Kong-based toy brand Hot Toys recently kicked off an exhibition in line with the highly anticipated Iron Man 2 movie which released at the conclusion of last month. The exhibition invited a number of regional artists and designers to re-appropriate Hot Toys’ realistically reproduced 1:6 Mark III Iron Man figure. The list of artists and designers include Anthony Mestas, Bernardo Esquivel, Heath Hammond and Mr Jesse Lincoln from Sideshow Collectibles, Japanese designers Peiper and Kaz, Korean painter Lalla and local designers from Hong Kong including Elphonso Lam, Eric So, Kenny Wong, William Tsang and Winson Ma among others. To cap off the exhibition, a 1:1 scale War Machine statue was also incorporated into the exhibition which runs until the end of the week at the Miramar Shopping Mall in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong.

It is specially produced based on the image of the well-received character War Machine in the movie, which is presented in fine sculpture, highlighting the light-up functions and highly-detailed weapon. A new trailer to Iron Man 2 was recently revealed. The movie which is set to release on May 7th features a further look into Iron Man’s repertoire of suits as well as his enemy this time around, Ivan Vanko/Whiplash, played by Mickey Rourke. Arguably one of the most highly anticipated sequels for 2010, Iron Man 2 has unveiled its trailer. Set to hit theaters on May 7th, 2010, the movie picks up with Tony Stark aka Iron Man facing public pressure to divulge the workings of his Iron Man suit despite his reservations the technology will fall into the wrong hands. The movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, Scarlett Johansson, Sam Rockwell, Mickey Rourke, and Samuel L. Jackson with Jon Favreau at the director’s helm.
