Predominantly known for their action sports footwear and apparel, etnies has reissued new colorways of its non-sneaker offering, the Califas Boot. The casual boot is optioned in either black and olive or a brown and orange set, as each variation welcomes premium leather atop the upper, while pigskin lines the interior. Leather laces accompany the Holiday 2011 drop, and you can pick up a pair now through etnies Plus retailers worldwide.

The Lovewright Company follow up on their initial release with a new version of the “Califas” boot slated for a Fall 2011 release. The work boot style features a low-profile last, light-colored upper with a wedge outsole and subtle branding along the collar of the upper.

etnies Plus introduces a couple of new colorways in the brand’s Senix Mid, a classic, suede mid top sneaker, highlighted by its sleek, minimal detailing. Black and grey options are produced for Fall/Winter 2010, each featuring accents coming via the lace eyelets and contrasting midsoles, along with speckled outsoles. Clean and classy, both colorways are now available through select etnies Plus retail accounts nationwide.

Last Saturday night etnies Plus celebrated the much anticipated launch of The Lovewright Co. shoe collaboration in true California style – with a big party. As two brands with strong roots and homes in Southern California, the aptly named Califas (short for “California”) etnies Plus x The Lovewright Co. boot was the night’s celebrity at the official private release party at Super El Camino in San Diego. More than 300 people came out to support the collaboration project, which included a special DJ set by Mayer Hawthorne. Shots of the night are offered below.

Offered is a first look into the upcoming collaboration between Mighty Healthy and etnies Plus. The collection consists of two styles, including the Califas boot and Guild low top sneaker. Ray Mate breaks down the collection in his own words: “European cities like Milan and Paris are well known for their distinctive style, unique culture, and world-renowned designers. When I think of New York, obviously architecture comes to mind, but also the inspiration and fashion found throughout the city. Here, some clothing brands and labels become brands simply through lifestyle. No one cares about brand names; their names are the brands. In order to reflect both etnies Plus and Mighty Healthy, we created a pack of shoes with two different purposes in mind. The “Califas” boot is designed for harsh Winters, whereas the low top “Guild” takes a more dress-inspired approach. Each style has it’s own personality, which can be dressed up or down, depending on individual style.”

At the start of June, Etnies Plus helped wrap up magazine Hamburger Eyes’ longest exhibition to date titled Casual Abyss. Spanning a month’s time, the exhibition held at the Mission Cultural Center in San Francisco brought together a handful of artists and photographers such as Ed Templeton, Dennis Mcgrath, and Michael Jang among others. The culmination of the two parties comes courtesy of this Hamburger Eyes x Etnies Plus Townsend sneaker featuring the collage work of Hamburger Eyes’ Ray Potes. With a goal of preserving and promoting fine arts, the sale of each shoe will benefit the H.E. cause and the Photo Epicenter starting July 1st, 2010 through the Hamburger Eyes website.

Featured is an early look into an upcoming project between etnies Plus and fellow Californian label The Lovewright Company. Taking on a boot silhouette, Lovewright gives its minimalist touches to the etnies Plus boot, featuring the use of premium calfskin leather and Vibram outsoles. Dubbed the “Califas”, this new design will see a launch in November, part of etnies Plus’ 2010 Holiday season.

Celebrating their joint sneaker venture, etnies Plus and Ed Banger Records prepare for the official launch of their “EDNIES” project. The event takes place on May 6th at Union Los Angeles, with music provided by King Salomon and Busy P. If in town, be sure to stop by.

With the release of Ed Banger Records x Etnies Plus “Ednies” footwear collaboration immanent, La MJC offers a stylized look into the collection. A May 6th launch will kick things off at Union Los Angeles, followed by drops on the 7th at the Etnies showroom in New York and the 20th in Paris. The red colorway will release as a Cool Cats Store exclusive.
