The latest installment of Hyundai’s RE:GENERATION project sees the mass collaborative effort “A La Modeliste” created by Mark Ronson, featuring a host of artists including Erykah Badu, Trombone Shorty, Mos Def, Zigaboo Modeliste and members of The Dap Kings. Upon creating the track from a jam in the studio, the video was shot at the same time which sees everyone mentioned, resulting in a contemporary ‘feel good’ jazz vibe. Expect more from the roster of artists of the RE:GENERATION project, including DJ Premier, Pretty Lights, The Crystal Method and Skrillex, in the near future.

Erykah Badu sits down to talk about her timeless 1997 album Baduizm in the latest installment of Classic Albums by Classic Artists, an original film series curated by Rock the Bells and Reebok Classics. Ms. Badu discusses her inspiration for the album, exploring the ways she used Africa as a muse for her aesthetic and sound. She also delves into her storied collaboration with hip-hop supergroup The Roots. Badu was a performer at this year’s Rock the Bells concert that hit Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York City.

New from MADE, a performance space in Berlin, comes a fascinating project wherein three artists from completely different backgrounds are encouraged to inspire, build off of and work with each other in order to create a completely unique end product. Also featuring artist Jaybo and classical group Miki’s String Quintet, the real star of the film for fans of hip-hop and R&B will without a doubt be Ms. Badu. Performing at the end of the clip with the full backing of the acoustic string group as well as under the watchful eye of Jaybo’s final visual project, Erykah Badu is as hauntingly talented as ever. Definitely worth checking out for fans of music or art of any kind.

For the latest visual release off of her 2010 album, New Amerykah Part Two: Return of the Ankh, Erykah Badu decided to take a simple, yet artistic approach. This black and white video for the soulful, piano-driven song “Out My Mind, One Time” features the avant-garde songstress dancing about by herself in a flowing gown. Creative Control offers its latest video piece feature the unmistakably talented Erykah Badu. In the piece Erykah serenades a studio audience (including a jetlagged Jay Electronica and Supanova) with a rendition of, “Fall in Love (Your Funeral),” off New Amerykah Part Two, her latest album which saw a release late last month. In contrast from the web-only bonus track featuring Lil’ Wayne that leaked a few days ago, “Window Seat” – the official single off of her upcoming fifth studio LP New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) – throws us back to Erykah Badu’s neo-soul roots. With Quest Love himself gracing the drums, this laid-back jam serves her fans with the very same formula that first made her famous. The track was co-produced by herself and James Poyser. New Amerykah Part Two (Return of the Ankh) is set for a release March 30th.

The Roots take part in tribute with Erykah Badu to recreate this classic Michael Jackson cover entitled, “I Wanna Be Where You Are.” The original song was featured on MJ’s debut album as a soloist back in 1972 titled, “Got To Be There,” and now the classic has been brought to light once again with this new rendition.
