New from the Fool’s Gold creative group comes the first installation of their Dust La Rock-curated Artist Series. Featuring brand new T-shirts and art prints from Cody Hudson and JK5, all world-premieres, the series is bound to grab attention from fashionable New Yorkers and curious passersby alike. Starting today from 7-9 p.m. at the Fool’s Gold space in Brooklyn, the event will feature attendance by all artists whose work is on display as well as refreshments and, inevitably, some great music.

Joshua Prince, aka Dust La Rock, makes his Los Angeles gallery debut with the new exhibition “Joking Victim” – an intimate, stark exploration into the themes of pain versus pleasure, free will versus destiny, fetishism, the occult and mortality. A true mixed media collaboration, “Joking Victim” consists of works on paper, photographs and a short film in which La Rock worked with a team of innovative artists to help bring his vision to life, including photographers Angela Boatwright, Kareem Black and tattoo artist JK5. The opening reception (April 14) will feature music by Jokers of the Scene and culminate with the Los Angeles debut of Bruce LaBruce’s queer cinema horror film L.A. Zombie. “Joking Victim” runs through May 8, 2011, with further information on the show available here.

Renowned DJ A-Trak and artist savant Dust La Rock present Grateful Bear, an ice-cold player notorious for trippy parties in his psychedelic igloo. Grateful Bear stands 8-inches tall and steps on the scene with tons of swag, including a gold-plated necklace, leather cuff, cotton sweatband, snow-capped igloo, fitted baseball hat, and wayfarers. Only 500 were produced, available now through Kid Robot.

DJ A-Trak has rose to prominence on various occasions from his feats on the DJ World Championship stage to his title as Kanye’s official DJ. Later this summer, the Canadian DJ will release this upcoming toy with Kid Robot and artist Dust Larock. Titled the “Grateful Bear”, the vinyl comes in at 8-inches and carries a suggested retail of $50 USD. Look for the toy to be available on July 2nd with a limited run of 500 pieces only.
