This season Tokyo’s Diet Butcher Slim Skin have added a zip to the back of their high top, allowing them to give it a more traditional boot shape and a taller silhouette. The sneaker still retains the chunky streetwear styling, although it is presented in a clean black and white colorway. The boot is made from a soft premium leather and has the lyric/slogan “walk this way” printed on the sole below the Diet Butcher logo. Oki-ni takes stock of several new colorways in the Slim Skin Retro ’08 high top sneaker from Tokyo-based Diet Butcher Slim Skin. A heavy duty sneaker in a premium goat suede upper, the shoes have been aged through a unique “destroying” process, featuring a single zip fastening on the ankle and quilted detail around both the heel and ankle. A label known for its punk-influenced aesthetic, the boots come fasten with wide laces and a contrast grey vulcanized sole. Available now here.

Coming in four different colorways, the chunky sneaker meets boot profile features a goat leather upper. Japanese contemporary label Diet Butcher Slim Skin take a refreshing minimal approach on their products, with this messenger bag. The bag is made from cow hide, with a raw leather underside to complement. Details include a rain flap with an open-angled front patch pocket and a convenient large main compartment. A label known for its punk-influenced aesthetic, these boots fasten with a chunky central Raccagni zip and are then secured with heavily quilted Velcro straps with rubberized canvas pull tags. A popular design amongst chunky sneaker silhouettes from designer brands, Diet Butcher Slim Skin reveals its 2010 spring/summer collection high-top sneaker. Although not nearly as bizarre as this season’s intriguing Strange Birds lookbook, Diet Butcher Slim Skin continues its unorthodox nature with a preview of various upcoming designs for Spring/Summer 2010. Aside form the interesting presentation, the Japanese brand’s garments manufacture a strong contemporary appeal highlighted by knits and outerwear pieces, along with the always questionable 3/4 cut pant.
