In a step away from his usually mechanic and “glitchy” sonic soundscape, dubstep producer Skrillex enlists the help of Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley for “Make It Bun Dem.” One part dubstep, and equal parts dub reggae, the result is a mashing of two separate genres that sound surprisingly cohesive when paired together. Catchy and accessible, this has the potential to be a huge hit for both artists.

Here’s the latest track off Nas and Damian Marley’s collaborative project Distant Relatives. Entitled, “Land Of The Promise” the duo uses vocals of the late Reggae-singer Dennis Brown for the hook. The jamming track successfully conveys the message of social injustice across the world by containing poignant lyrics and a bass-heavy Jamaican influenced beat. Distant Relatives arrives May 18th, 2010.

Dignitaries of revolutionary music, Nas and Damian Marley unveil their latest drop, “As We Enter” off their upcoming collaboration album Distant Relatives. The two musicians complement each other very well, and the track certainly builds anticipation forthe album. Following up their previous collaboration on the track Road to Zion from Damian Marley’s stellar Welcome to Jamrock album, Nas and Jr. Gong offer a preview into their latest development from the upcoming album Distant Relatives. A release date still hasn’t been announced, but this video gives a much better understanding of its content, inspired by Nas and Damian’s shared African ancestry.
