Earlier this month saw a small preview of the Converse collection designed by American designer John Varvatos. A collection of subtlety designed Jack Purcells by one of Americans leading designers has hit select stockists. A few subtle design qualities include side rivets and an elasticized tongue. Converse first released the Jack Purcell Rally sneaker back in 1976. Now 24 years later, they're back with the Converse Jack Purcell Rally II. Part of Converse's 100th Anniversary collection, the Rally II features a canvas upper and has words RLY printed on the midsole. Coming in two colors, these retail for 7,245 Yen and will be available at Flauge.

With Converse celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2008, the releases are coming at a frantic pace. Some of you may be aware of Converse's looming 100th Anniversary. With 100 years of back catalog, there's bound to be some releases which for many will be a look at some new and rarely seen items. Among them, the Jack Purcell Racearound was originally released in 1973 and inspired in part by sports cars of its generation. The upper is comprised of both smooth and pebble pig skin leather.
