COMME des GARCONS has always maintained a strong collection of button-up shorts often creating innovative styles which feature unconventional pairings of materials. Their most recent releases for the Homme collection feature two button-up styles revisiting classic checker patterns with one particular shirt utilizing contrasting materials for the sleeves and yoke. Available now at COMME des GARCONS dealers worldwide and at IT.
Guerrilla Store +1 213 proprietor Artist, Brett Westfall, and Comme des Garcons founder, Rei Kawakubo, recently got together for a collaborative venture for the Comme des Garcons Comme des Garcons collection for women. This extremely limited release is out now and is available at all Comme des Garcons' stores worldwide, with the pieces making their way to Guerrilla Store +1 213 this month.
The inspiration for this joint venture comes from Brett Westfall's 'Sherf' installation exhibition that was held at Kazuo HQ in Downtown Los Angeles in June 2007. Men’s versions of the shirts will be produced through Westfall’s Unholy Matrimony label and the release of these will coincide with the arrival of the women’s versions by Kawakubo and Westfall.
The Comme des Garcons Guerrilla Store +1 213 has put on some amazing functions since its occupation began back in February in Downtown Los Angeles, and another one will be held to celebrate the release of this particular collection. The original 'Sherf/Fresh' paintings will be exhibited at the release party and anyone is welcome to join. Details about this event will be released later on in the month.
COMME des GARCONS has released a new series of wallets for their 2008 summer campaign. For the Japanese brand, their popularity has slowly leached into the mainstream and has been aided greatly by the creation of various sub-lines catering to different demographics and budgets. A look at their latest wallets include various embossed patterns such as numbers, letters and other patterns. Available now at select IT stores in Hong Kong.
10 Corso Como Comme des Garçons created for Rei Kawakubo's Comme des Garçons line with the help of Milanese lifestyle guru Carla Sozzani will be celebrating their 6th anniversary this year. To celebrate this event, a 400% Bearbrick as well as a Tote bag was created by Medicom Toy for this occasion. The Bearbrick will retail at 8,190 Yen while the Tote bag will cost 7,350 Yen. The items will be available very soon.

Citrus scents are at the root of COMME des GARCONS' latest series of perfume. With the tagline "Wake Up, feel positive, be positive", the separate scents feature orange, lemon and lime as each creates a fresh spritz of vitamin scents. Available now at colette.
New graphic tees designed by Junya Watanabe for COMME des GARCONS. These graphics refer to Japanese post-war advertising, with new American influences. These all over prints, cover the ribbing of the crew-neck collar and is beyond the regular BET bootleg Vuitton remix all-over print tee. More to come on intelligent graphics from COMME des GARCONS.

In a first-ever move for COMME des GARCONS Guerrilla Store series of retail locations, the temporary store space has become a fixture at the recent opening of the Radical Advertising museum exhibition in Duesseldorf, Germany. Including both older releases and new styles, the CdG Guerrilla store will be play nicely against a back drop of alternative media forms. The Radical Advertising exhibition highlights viral marketing and 3-D ad campaigns. The exhibition will run until August 16th at the NRW Forum Duesseldorf.

Fred Perry is an Iconic brand, another original brand with 5 decades of history. Fred Perry himself was world tennis champion in 1928 and in 1952 started making the slim-fit tennis shirts that were revolutionary at the time.
A few decades later, his clothes became the uniform for original street cultures in the UK such as Mods and Skinheads. Fred Perry has maintained its connection with culture as well as sport, and do alot of contemporary collabos.
The most famous collabo is with Comme des Garçons, but they even let Staple Design in on a piece. They have an extensive music part of their site, and have a small feature on a ska-punk group, staying true to their original fan base that rmade them famous. Rei Kawakubo, founder and head designer of Japanese label, Comme des Garcons, will be the guest designer for H&M's 2008 autumn collection. The collection will include everything from men's, women's, and children's clothing to accessories and even an exclusive unisex fragrance. The collection is set to launch in early November at the opening of H&M's second store in Tokyo, Japan, and it will hit other H&M stores a few days later.
Ever since Comme des Garcons' debut in 1981, Rei Kawakubo has been known for challenging the norms with her use of distressed fabrics, unfinished edges, asymmetrical cuts, and monochromatic tones. The collaboration will let H&M break into the Japanese/Harajuku market and compete with the dominating Uniqlo, both known for fashionable yet affordable clothing.
This collaboration will definitely be worth waiting for since it will be Comme des Garcon design at H&M prices.
