Following up to the critically acclaimed 2007 release Below the Heavens, Blu and Exile reunite again for another, rather surprising collaborative project, titled Give Me My Flowers While I Can Smell Them. The piece was recorded back in 2009, but the material that results when both creative minds like these clash together, is quite timeless. Here’s an intriguing new collabo involving West Coast rhymesayer Blu and the legendary Pete Rock. A nice synergy between the meeting of two different hip-hop generations results in “The Clean Hand.” No official word on where this track will end up, but rumor has it that there might just be a collaborative project in the works between the two. Stay tuned.

Having last been seen in Valencia, Italian artist Blu has traveled north to partake in Avant-Garde Urbano in the small town of Tudela de Navarra. More and more quaint cities across Europe have been using world-renowned street artists and their work as a way to bump up tourist’s visits. Blu’s contribution to the festival finds the artist using familiar colors and characters, but still challenging the artistic consumer to find their own personal meanings in his work. The official opening occurs today, and features other notable artists El Mac (LA) and Suso33 (Madrid).

Fresh from painting the town red with other notable muralist Escif for the FAME Festival, Italian artist BLU has returned to his solitary process for his latest piece in Valencia.  Featuring a familiar color palette and signature character work, BLU’s sense of humor is present as well. Just take a look inside of the character’s mouth. Can you see it?

Italian Street Art grandmaster BLU unofficially opened CityLeaks Festival in June with a stunning large-scale mural at Cologne´s Hansaring. Located at one of the city´s busiest spots, the menacing head of a faucet-haired Medusa stares down on the passing traffic. To its left we get a glimpse of Street Art duo Captain Borderline putting the touches on their mural. In immediate neighborhood closest to Cologne´s largest cinema palace, their wall reveals the business of moving pictures as a collective brainwashing. See their work in time-lapse above!

Following up their Skating Team mural back in April, street artists Blu and Ericailcane come together for another large scale work, this time titled Octopus. Sticking with the animal meets human theme, this new piece once again holds a deeper meaning than one may assume. Take a closer look at the creation process below.

Italian street artist Blu creates his latest mural in Poland as he takes part in the Outer Spaces Festival. Arguably one of his most complex pieces to date, the large scale painting highlights Blu creativity with his always intriguing subliminal messages. This new one shouldn’t be too difficult to decipher as the artist challenges us to “free our minds.” Further looks are available here.

During his visit to Poland, Italian street artist Blu took the time to paint this large mural on the side of a building in Krakow. Continuing with the religious theme that’s been noticed in some of his most recent paintings, the artist depicts an ominous figure speaking into a bullhorn that’s been transformed into a church bell. At the bottom of the mural is a large mass of people huddled together and listening attentively to the message being delivered from the man above. While it’s impossible to know what the people are being told, the artist’s message reads loud and clear.

Italian artist Blu contributes the following mural within his native country of Italy. The theme is an intersection of two important facets of Italian culture in both religion and food. However, there seems to be some underlying references as the image is that of a praying character slurping on spaghetti which emanates from his brain.
