Working with a primarily black palette, the collection is comprised of reworked classics from seasons past, layered with an eclectic offering of tonal materials and generous cuts. New from Black COMME des GARCONS is the brand’s Spring/Summer 2012 collection. Dubbed “Black Black,” the collection serves as a sub-line for the brand’s Manhattan concept store and contains reworked garments from their first few seasons. Consisting of everything from jackets to pants with plaid patch pockets, the collection revolves around the usual dark-themed pieces for which the almost three-year-old spot has become known. Select “Black Black” pieces are now available at Black COMME des GARCONS on 10th Avenue in New York City.

BLACK COMME des GARCONS has collaborated with Disney on a collection of apparels for Spring/Summer 2011. The short-sleeve crewneck shirts all feature a black silhouette of the iconic Mickey Mouse head on the front with a small BLACK logo on the lower back. The shirts are available in black, white and grey, while the cardigan comes in black. All can be purchased now from I.T and select stockists.

The monochromatic BLACK COMME des GARCONS line has begun hitting select retailers including a pop-up shop in New York City. Japanese label COMME des GARÇONS are set to open yet another pop-up store, this time at NUMBER 3 from May 3 to August 3. The store will carry CDG’s BLACK label, which is traditionally more affordable than their central lines and are often styled in black. The Greek store will join the growing list of BLACK pop-ups which thus far includes Colette (Paris), Barney’s (New York) and 10 Corso Como (Milan).

Relaxed silhouettes with simple colors maintain the BLACK COMME des GARCONS approach of involving only blacks and whites with some subtle details including polka dots. The BLACK COMME des GARCONS collection’s last few releases before the end of the year are seen here. While most of the recent BLACK COMME des GARCONS offerings have done little to stray away from all-black aesthetics, things are afforded a bit of color in this release. Once brightly colored shirts are given the overdye process while patterned button-downs feature bleached elements.
