As opposed to the plethora of existing model options, Alfa Romeo streamlines their MiTo down to nine versions as part of a refreshed range. In addition, each model has been re-branded, including the entry-level Progression, the Turismo and Lusso trim levels which have both been replaced by the Sprint, the Veloce by the Distinctive and the Cloverleaf by the Quadrifoglio Verde. Also revised was the engine range which includes the new 78-horsepower 1.4 and 105-hp MultiAir 1.4, replacing the 95-hp engine and a new 1.3-liter JTDM-2 diesel eligible for emissions exemptions under overseas regulations. The top-of-the-line QV carries over the same 170-hp MultiAir 1.4, while the bronze metallic paint pictured above is new. Further information on these new changes is now available through Autoblog.

After a lengthy absence (last seen in 1995) from the American market, Italian car manufacturer Alfa Romeo is set for a return to US soil with their latest sportscar the 8C Competizione. Despite affluent shoppers feeling the pinch, this hasn’t stopped a few lucky individuals from snapping up all the available pre-order cars. The release of the 8C Competizione should pave the way for the opening up of some of Alfa Romeo’s other current roster selections such as the 159 and Brera in 2009.
