The delicate flower-like design of Shiro Studio’s phylum lamp pays homage to human relationships and interpersonal interactions through the medium of artificial light. The delicate design, created for Italian brand Alessi‘s 2012 collection, was created out of molded sheets of corrugated steel and formed into the shape of a flower. Phylum’s design was influenced by Shiro Studio’s Andrea Morgante and the Megaptera tray he developed for Alessi last year.

Italian design brand Alessi has collaborated on a special project with the University of Art and Design- Lausanne (ECAL) for Milan Design Week 2011. Designed by second-year Industrial Design students under the supervision of their department head, Elric Petit, the participants conceived a series of desk and office objects that provide joy to the user, perceiving the workspace as a friendly and welcoming environment.

Deriving their designs from the inspirations of distinguished international architects and designers of commercial and industrial product, Italian brand ALESSI, premier a new collection of watches mastering those very same design principles. The Daytimer is a timepiece, designed by Will Alsop and Federico Grazzini, that offers sleek character with a playful twist in a variety of vibrant selections. Jointly produced with Seiko, the collection will see a release in July 2009 at select ALESSI retailers worldwide.
