Swedish brand Acne is set to open the doors to its second space in the Danish capital of Copenhagen. The store maintains a variation of bold red color on the carpet and walls, offering a labyrinth-like configuration in the space itself with scattered overhanging lighting fixtures. As a relatively young brand Acne was able to stand out as Paris Fashion Week most recently and continues to expand its presence in Scandinavia with this additional retail store.

A few days out from the conclusion of Paris Fashion Week’s Fall/Winter 2012 menswear showings, we present a selection of our top 10 looks. After spending some time deliberating, chosen were looks came from Acne, Dries Van Noten, Givenchy, Henrik Vibskov, Issey Miyake, Junya Watanabe COMME des GARCONS MAN, Lanvin, Louis Vuitton and MIHARAYASUHIRO. A largely unified theme among our choices was the focus on proportions as everyday wearability being an important trait. While we concede you won’t find some next level examples of groundbreaking progression, the chosen outfits exude a degree of style with great longevity. Jonny Johansson of Acne set out to explore the idea of fraudulence in fabric and design for his upcoming 2012 fall/winter collection. As if turning its nose upward to the fashion elite of Paris, the Swedish brand presented a collection of garments produced with faux leather, imitation fur and polyester, all of which suits the frugal young men, who in Johansson’s mind, buy his label. Continuing with the theme of pretending to be something it’s not, Acne attempts to dress-up grunge-like attire with artificial luxury materials and contemporary cuts. The rebellious high-end spirit continued with the addition of all-over heart graphics in buoyant brights and earth-tones: the polar opposite of grunge. Acne did an outstanding job of harmonizing its contrasting themes, providing a collection that appeals to various styles and subcultures.

Swedish design collective Acne releases yet another enticing outerwear piece via its Suede Cropped Bomber Jacket for Spring/Summer 2012. Known for its well executed blend of contemporary and timeless styles, the label presents the deep blue suede bomber with a navy ripped collar, cuff and hem. The jacket boasts a contemporary slim flt with a slightly shorter length. The Acne Mckenzie Suede Cropped Bomber Jacket is available through MR PORTER with a price tag of £1,100 GBP (approximately $1,690 USD).

“Ambition to Create Novel Expressions” is the motto for Swedish design collective, Acne, as they create an expansive range of items from film and art to furniture and fashion. This time around the contemporary design team presents the Carlo Leather & Denim Shoe, a model replicated from the classic tennis shoe silhouette. The shoe features washed denim, a premium white leather upper, leather lining, and an off-white rubber outsole. The Acne Carlo is currently available through MR PORTER for £260 GBP (approximately $399 USD).

Fresh from Swedish design collective, Acne, comes a vibrant, Italian-crafted Desert Boot for the Spring/Summer 2012 season. Known for their stylish interpretations of modern classics, the Scandinavian fashion label maintains much of the favorite desert boot silhouette, with the added details of a soft suede royal blue upper, leather liner, thick leather sole and contrast off-white stitching. This model is currently available through oki-ni in both blue and green, with a price tag of £350 GBP (approximately $537 USD).

Swedish label Acne drops the Oliver Leather & Suede Biker Jacket as part of its latest collection. This clean outerwear variant is crafted of premium leather and features several modern detailing points, including diagonal zip accents, ribbed arm panels and quilted elbow patches. Ideal to be worn with basic garments, this jacket is now available through MR PORTER.

The Acne Desert High Boot is a super clean chukka boot with the traditional twin eyelet lace up front and a full premium suede upper. The strong upper color is nicely accented with a brown leather trim and a contrast thick stitched welt. These are available in bright blue and green at Norse Store for €337 EUR (approximately $440 USD).

Swedish design conglomerate Acne continues to expand its empire as evidenced by the December 13 store opening in Paris.
