The London based Decapitator has gained his fair share of notoriety for his counter-culture exploits replacing the heads in various advertisements with a bloodied and decapitated mess. Uniqlo is the latest company to come under fire from the gory artist as a series of ads were hit.
Cassette Playa and its bold use of colors can be seen on this latest piece of work as part of Uniqlo's artist series t-shirts. Two styles use unorthodox color combos in line with hard geometric shapes. Available now at Uniqlo locations worldwide.

Chloe Sevigny, known to many of you originally as the chick from Larry Clarke's "KIDS", is once again posing uniquely for Uniqlo's Spring '08 line up. We see more graphic based Tee's, including an Atom Boy influenced graphic and a fireworks motif, something that describes summer to most Japanese. In this case, Uniqlo is bringing some retro Japanese to the West, a nice change from the Americana they revitalize usually over there. There is a 70's rock theme Raglan Tee and flared pants though for those that can't get enough of the US's good old days however. Like other JP brands, Uniqlo has cooked up some vivid edgier stuff for the West as opposed to what they would serve at home. More looks after the jump

Any kid in Asia would have probably encountered the hit robot anime series, Gundam, while growing up. There was a time when we use to build Gundam models or play Gundam video games. Now, Bandai's long lasting franchise has teamed up with Uniqlo to release some t-shirts and models for Spring '08 under the Gundam Project. Beginning March, you will be able to pick up some Gundam inspired t-shirts at the UT store. There will be a kids version (releases in March) as well as a adult version (releases in April). Definitely a collector's item.

Despite holding a virtually non-existent presence in North America, Uniqlo has turned itself into a leading billion dollar low-cost clothing brand. In an interview with Uniqlo's founder, Tadashi Yanai, the entrepreneurial mastermind outlines his goals of reaching the $10 billion USD/year sales mark and his unwillingness to pigeon-hole his management philosophy as any particular style but rather one that must be continually adapted to ensure success and efficiency. Uniqlo's popularity can be largely associated with their commitment to creating quality and stylish garments at low prices and creating pieces that can easily be worn in different situations and settings. The CNN interview can be seen both in text and streaming video.
