The Mexican blanket concept has combined with the 20th anniversary of New Balance's most popular 576 series to produce this latest release. Although most Mexican blanket themes stress a high degree of contrast and color, New Balance chose a more subdued pattern for this 576. The black leather upper is highlighted by a series of contrast stitches along the heel and the start of the toebox. Available now at mita.
Once a regional exclusive to Japan and the focus of numerous collaborations between Stussy and mad hectic, the fabled trail running MT580 recently saw its first action in the world spotlight with more general releases. A preview of the 2009 collection of clunky midsoled runner features some picture perfect colorways which offer a great compromise with the often colorful offerings most MT580 fans are subjected to with the Stussy x mad hectic collabos. No word yet on availability.

Although the H574 in its own regard has been designated as New Balance's lifestyle hiking style with its higher then average cut, Japanese brand Victim has taken this concept a step further with their H574 team-up. The all-leather upper features metal lace holes to further accentuate the look. Available now at unbar.jp.
Two familiar partners in crime, massive Japanese sneaker store Atmos has had the pleasure of working with New Balance on numerous occasions to fulfill the large Japanese appetite for the NB. We've seen distinct design patterns emanating from the Land of the Rising Sun as the Japanese are known to adore concept driven footwear as well as more liberal creations. The latest Atmos x New Balance collabo features a color-changing upper which changes colors relative to heat. A July release date has been set however aside from Atmos NY, don't expect these to be too readily available outside of Japan.

New Balance recently had their international launch of their MT580 model in Taipei. On display at the exhibition were the complete collection of the Mita Sneakers MT580 as well as four never seen before MT580's. According to Kenlu, the black and white MT580's are slated to be released in November while the Brown colorway (inspired by LV luggage case) and the Red colorway (inspired by Victorinox) will be releasing in September.
A new range of styles from New Balance have been released. The fabled 576 runner is seen in two colorways including another take on one of NB's marquee 576 retro releases earlier this year with ample use of blue. The other style incorporates a purple suede upper and mesh toebox. Available now at Mita.

Upon its debut in the 1970s, the 320 from New Balance was immediately heralded by Runner's World as the number 1 performer. With a return to vintage models in recent memory and an overall move away from chunky profiles, the 320 is enjoying a new bit of relevancy in 2008. This latest pack is inspired by early video game imagery. Available next month in three colorways at Mita.

With a retro running shoe renaissance on our hands, we've seen our fair share of re-developed and re-inspired designs of cult classics. Case in point, the RC576D features a slimmer racing profile which ties in nicely with a more contemporary direction of lifestyle footwear in general. The addition of brogue punching on the toebox and upper create a transformation from former performance sneaker to full blown lifestyle offering. For numerous years, New Balance's 580 profile was an elusive model for people outside of Japan often commanding large sums for their status often boosted by collaborations with Stussy and hectic. However, we've seen the situation improve drastically for 580 fans in recent times as the availability and distribution has opened up on a global scale. The chunky supportive runner has been seen popping up in various forms with a hope these two upcoming colors will also see worldwide light.

A few years ago, miniature shoes were a hit as the often micro sized toys were the closest things you'd have to owning the hard to get exclusive sneakers they represented. For New Balance's 20th anniversary of their 576, the legendary running brand has captured the essence of some of their marquee 576s in their Timeless Collection. The set features sneakers from various time periods from the shoes inception in 1988, presently in 2008 and futuristic modeling representing twenty years from now in 2028.
