For Rodolphe Marconi and much of the rest of the fashion world, heralded designer Karl Lagerfeld has presented himself as a bit of an enigma. In an attempt to understand a man that has such a huge impact on fashion, filmmaker Rodolphe Marconi set out to create the Lagerfeld Confidential, a film which features an in-depth look into Lagerfeld's life. Everything from his design process and interviews to partying with the stars are seen in a film which entered the cutting room with over 150 hours of filming. Available now at colette.
For the screening of "Deathbowl to Downtown," 5Boro Skateboards is issuing a limited series of two deck sets (50 pairs) to help promote the movie. The Deathbowl deck has an old school shape and the Downtown deck is of the more modern/current style. Pictured below are Felix Arguelles and Eli Gesner, NYC OG pro and DC brand manager Jeff Pang with Jocko Weyland (wrote the movie, among other things), more local notables Mike Hernandez and Rodney Torres, and the man himself, Steve Rodriguez of 5Boro.
Skateboarding's street revolution owes a big part to Manhattan. "Deathbowl…" is the first film to really explore skateboarding's urban history in-depth, including many of the 70's pioneers and current players in the game. Chloe Sevigny narrates the film and major artists, such as the Beastie Boys, have contributed music. The NYC preview of "Deathbowl to Downtown – The Evolution of Skateboarding in New York City," is happening May 8, at the BMCC Tribeca Performing Arts Center. Attendees of will receive a custom giftbag designed by Worship Worthy and graphic designer Steve NIsh containing the an elephant print Nike SB wallet, Nike SB Staple Design Pigeon socks, Keep Koozie, 5Boro skateboard magnets, and a Mountain Dew Green Label Art Bottle designed by Chuck Anderson.

The highly anticipated and widely acclaimed Bomb It documentary is debuting (trailer seen above) tonight in New York at Cinema Village. The documentary is a comprehensive look at the world of graffiti from a worldly perspective as his travels take him around the globe in search of the world's greatest writers and opinions on pertinent issues including the economical and societal implications. In anticipation of a full debut of his film, director Jon Reiss also gave an extensive interview with Daily News regarding the purpose and production of the film.

Teaming up with the 2005 House music documentary The UnUsual Suspects, Stussy has released a special tee based on the Italian version of the movie. Unfortunately for Italian fans of the movie and Stussy, the blue t-shirt set is not for sale.
