Journey to: $5,000+ a month via Online (retail)

@lookatmybapesta  It's fairly simple.  People either A: have the mind of a consumer or B: have the mind of a seller.  Everyone who has the mind of a seller that knows about this niche, has exploited & sourced it as much as I have. There's only a hand full of us currently. I'm just lucky enough to be the only professional one on eBay.  Before I got into retail & wholesale, I was a standard consumer. I didn't even know that I knew 90% of the things I know now. Then I opened my mind. It's all about your mindset.

Journey to: $5,000+ a month via Online (retail)
No. It is a Journey thread, some of you (actually damn near all) don't know about Journey threads because everyone is so used to bragging, throwing salt on others instead of trying to motivate people to do something with their lives. I'm posting this to motivate & encourage all the HB fam that may actually have something planned or an idea to do something online related involving making money. Trying to show putting in time & hard work will eventually pay off.  Actually took the idea from BlackHatWorld since I'm a member on there. If anyone doesn't know about BHW, google it. It's full of internet marketers who make anywhere from $20 a day to $5k+ a day using a variety of methods.

Journey to: $5,000+ a month via Online (retail)

Updates at the middle & end of every month Continuing from where I left off:  New thread also, since the last 1 was flooded with pointless posts.  Month 1: around $1.4k on eBay This was a semi test run, barely put any $$$ into it. Did some minimal SEO to outrank competition in the niche. At the end of month 1, I made money even when I didn't really want to.  Month 2: around $300 the first week coming back from a break so far Put even LESS money into it since I bought a very minimum stock that I bought the last month. Overall I got lazy. But it's alright though, going to try to go hard this month.  Shit that happened this month: Temporary delay since I ran out of stock & had issues with the suppliers. I also was busy. So I haven't sold anything within the last 7 days. So that's 1 week worth of potential $$$ down the drain. New amateur competition as well, stealing low quality pics off the net & bit off my eBay ID. Suspecting it to be some old competition I outranked. He's the only one now.  Getting a good amount of stock coming in. This run should earn me: $2,200.  Cost of doing business this month so far: $266 Let's see if I can get it all off within the next 19 days.  Total made so far combined:  $1,779.13 Note: Changed title to "Online" since I plan to extend to Amazon (no competition) & other marketplaces. Eventually the niche will have it's own website.
No, I do not purchase from retailers. I get products directly from the manufacturers. My LLC has multiple accounts with manufacturers and factories. My company is registered as both a retail company & a wholesale company. The DBA for this niche I'm using under my company is strictly retail.
I agree on some parts and disagree on others. I didn't have to find 65 people, they literally came to me. Literally no paid promo, no google ads, nothing like that. It was 100% automated income with this particular product. I'd rather spend less money to make more. If I were to spend the same amount as you if you were to buy 65 pairs of sneakers, I'd have more profit. But to each his own. But yeah, make that paper.

Are you satisfied with the education you've received

SUMMARY: The internet has taught me more than any form of education from schooling available today. School didn't teach me how to make a living. Just prepared me for the typical experience of going to HS, then college, to only hope I'd get hired for a job after spending 4 years of building up debt. Instead, I do my own thing online & offline because I've learned how, from the internet. Fuck having a boss.  Long, inspiring, boring detail of what I went through.  All stories aren't typical. I am not satisfied with what I've learned from high school. I dropped out of hs young. Instantly from dropping out, I was unemployed. I had no money, basically lived off my parents like a normal teenager. I was depressed, didn't really know where I was going in life. I attempted to go back to school but it didn't work out. I wasn't the typical fuck up. I had excellent grades in school with minimum effort. It all started when I was in history. We were told to do a long ass essay about some shit. I'm looking at the paper, and I thought to myself "How would this benefit me? I'm not about to become a damn history teacher. 8/10 of this shit, I will forget in about a year. What is this really doing for us?". After that day, I never returned back to school.  I was about 17 when the depression started to get real bad. No life plan, no nada. 3 months into the year, I started thinking. The year before I dropped out, I wanted to randomly start a business. This was during the time I got my first job (not a real one, basically got paid to learn about shit & go on trips). I was going to sell refurbished iPod touches. Little to no knowledge (at least, before I dug deeper into my mind) about the retail world, my only source that I knew about was liquidation.com since there was a commercial lol. I went on there, found a listing for about 32 iPod touches, I bid & had won them all. Then afterwards, I realized I wasn't really going to make that much profit, if not any with em. I ended up not paying & forgetting all about that venture. My DBA is still registered downtown for that niche lol.  Anyways fast forward, I dug deeper into the whole wholesale/retail biz since I wanted to do that at a younger age. I ended up finding multiple ways to make money. I formed my first LLC, and instantly went into business. The niche I picked that run, only lasted maybe 6 months. I did really good for a kid starting his first business venture. Made way more than what I put into it. Never lost any money. I also spent my $$$ on a lot of dumb shit, thinking it all was going to last forever. But it didn't. I soon lost everything. I actually glad I had that learning experience. Now, I will never put all my eggs into one basket. I sprung back up the following year & never looked back. I now know at least 10 different ways to make money. Thanks to my natural talents of internet research & Black Hat World.

Journey to: $5,000 a Month via eBay

Alright, back to an adult conversation. Congrats on your $1,989 in 1 month. I really like to see people make money. However, that is not all profit.  TLDR: I made $1,133 profit. You made only $729 profit.  Breakdown:  1989 / 7 = $284 avg per item.  You're clearly a re-seller. I assume it's Jordans, Nike, Supreme merch, etc.  So let's say the average cost per item is around $180   So that's $104 profit per item.  Cost of doing business for you would be $1260 @ $180 retail per item.  180 * 7 = $1260  Profit would be $729 for you. That's without eBay fees. So, it basically took you $1260 to make $729 profit. My niche, I spend maybe $4 per item shipped. 4 * 65 =  $260  1393 - 260 = $1,133  I've made $1,133 profit. That's without eBay fees.  It took me $260 to make $1,133 profit VS. your $1260 to make $729 profit.

Journey to: $5,000 a Month via eBay
Both. It randomly hit me in like August. I was too busy w/ other projects to do it that month so I finally decided to tackle it last month when all my other shit slowed down due to seasonal changes. Research is key to picking a successful niche. eBay makes it easy to do research these days with their option to search completed listings and sold listings. With that tool you can find what sold & what didn't. No need for Alexa now. Unless I wanted to do amazon, then I'd need Alexa kinda.  Speaking of amazon, I might hire some fam to keep up with my amazon store when I do list on it. There's no competition there for my niche, well only in the UK. That's about it.
