[Quote] I got it from a vintage shirt I found in a thrift shop, as I stated in the post itself. This way i'm sure my fabrics aren't used or will ever be used in some other five panel.

@mbad5669 i completely agree on the material part. i've got an idea for something that's pretty unique, but i'll have to wait 9 months to realize it since i'm on an exchange project..

[Quote] This. I have a lot of vintage fabrics laying around wich i sourced by hand in thrift stores, markets, old peoples houses (for real),... also, i've made hats using fabrics from vintage clothing i bought and cut. But this is not easy to do when you want to produce more than just one hat each..

@blackcampmarket the butterfly fabric looks nice, but nothing is really original, just some nice fabrics with a contrasting peak, it's been done before. I would still consider buying one, because i'm not yet tired of designs like this. But it is not as original as you claimed it to be. Also, good looking out on the fabrics that have been used before, dissapointed by the ILU one smh

My polar bear hat arrived yesterday. The package came in a bit battered so there's already many wrinkles in the hat, but that's not a big problem. Qualilitywise the hat is amazing, pretty much the same as the old ILU caps, from the same manufacturer. But there is a lot of air and bubbles in the underbrim. I really like it that you can put the strap back into the hat, it looks so much better. Big ups to preview! [URL]

[Quote] mine still has to arrive, shipping to dominican republic is a disaster, I'm worried that it might not even arrive smh this I fully blame on this country, and not on preview.

@jacobpratt Mine worked out pretty good just measuring, you just adapt the pattern you have if it doesn't work at first. [Image] that way you don't make an exact copy of something, but create something unique adapted to what you feel fits good. But do what you feel is necessary to make them and good luck with it! Looking forward to the results.

@waquaxy fusing is the fabric applied underneath other fabrics to make them more solid and help them maintain their shape, as you know most hats are black on the inside, this black fabric is the fusing. Most brands use a light type of buckram to fuse their hats. Buckram is widely available and can be found in most fabric/craft stores.

[Quote] I apply the eyelets before I sew the panels, that's easier to measure. Bill really is the hardest part imo, good luck with that! Also don't forget to put a decent sweatband in it.

@jemstayshininn Think you still got some work to do, but it's not bad for a 'rough draft' did you fuse the fabric?
