No many people really use sps or mpc 60s. The people who do may use them for one of 2 reasons: with the Sp it adds a 50 mhz thump to drums so it's dope to run your drums through. But that's about it. People still rocking MPC 60s do more so because that's what they're used to like Primo. The mpc 60 is fine if all you're gonna do is lay out the basic beat and just add the rest in Pro Tools. Sure it's not what you use but how you use it. But anyone who's saying equiptment doesn't matter is fooling themselves. Cause if you know what you're doing you're not gonna stick to Fruity Loops when you know what you're gonna get out of Logic Pro with an M Audio set up. And shit with the sounds you get out of an MPC 3000...that thump? Equiptment does matter...it doesn't make you better, but if you're good and know what you're doing it does make your sound crisper. Quality matters just as much as anything.

Actually this was the best emcee page posted on here. Rapped on beat, Good voice, no mumbling. keep dooing your thing man. I like how the only dude from all the people that didn't brag about how great of rapper they are didn't have to talk himself up..just let the music do the talking!

A lot of people loved Fear and Lothing. I couldn't get into it @ all. One of my friends said that with Terry Guillin you either love his work or hate it. I dug 5th element kind of and 12 monkeys was ok..but Fear and Lothing was more interesting as an article then it was as a movie. The acting and visuals are really well done..but it's a script that goes nowhere.

i'm not trying to be an elitest, but almost all those movies with the exception of the first on your list are pretty well known. and I guess the last shogun assasin most people know as the lone wolf and cub series. here's my list from movies i've been watching recently. 1. Naked by Micheal Leigh 2. La Haine (amazing that there's not a US release of this on DVD) 3. George Washington by David Gordon Green 4. Juilet of the Spirits by Fellini (first full color Fellini flick...gorgeous!) 5. Man bites Dog 6. In the mood for Love (movie that Sophia Coppella ripped off for Lost In Translation) 7. Ikuru by Akira Kirosawa (my favorite of his...some people prefer "Dreams" to this film...but I wasn't a huge fan). 8. Bullet Ballet by Shinya Tsukamotu

The movie was pretty bad. It was long, drawn out, and really cliche. I expected as much after it was trashed at Cannes. This movie repeats the same style and theme of Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu last 2 movies, Amores Peros and 21 Grams. Babel is the third and last installment of his trilogy. Playing with timelines and illustrating how large the world is by focusing on connecting seemingly random characters were really interesting the first 2 times around. This time around Alejandro gives us a movie filled with one deminsional characters and scenerios that he forces to happen even though the viewer can logically see this would never happen in "real life". Example is that Brad Pitt's wife getting shot in the movie...the driver tells him it would take 4 hours to get to the nearest hospital. Instead Pitt is content waiting around 24 hours while he bickers with the US embassy to get a chopper to the town he is in. A town filled with cars. The movie tries to run on the theme of language barriers and miscommunication(thus Babel). But it never really achieves it. It tries really hard in the story of the mute def japanease girl...but it's not really all that interesting. Alejandro gives us a bunch of cheap effects like muting the music from the point of view of the def girl while in the club...though a movie goer would of got the point with a simple facial expression. The movie does have some really good and interesting moments. The brother who peeps on his sister was a good underlying story note..but not enough to hold together a segment. Even Garcia's character was really thinnly written but he does provide some light heartness and most likely the only eye catching moment of the whole movie(peta beware). It seems like a lot of the directors who gave us some really well made and beatiful movies are really trying to hard recently. Guy Richie flopped with Revolver. Darrenovsky's Fountain was called a stinker by many of the Cannes critics.

she's pretty overratted to me. virgin suicides was just great cinematrography which she can't take credit for...same with lost in translation. Which is a great film if you want to see Japan but little else. It was ironic that it was up for best screenplay when there wasn't really one. I can understand why Bill Murray would be annoyed that it was since he ad libbed most his performace. her movies are just really thin and not much to them. the characters are just kind of stereotypes and she manages to even make really great characters like Jeffery's charcters from Virgin Suicides dull. She's kind of typical hollywood kid trying to make indy films from the outside looking in.

I just moved from Boston a couple months back. To be honest the sneaker heads in Boston seemed more on it then a lot of the Chicago dudes here. But the shops in Boston are dope. Bodega is very hot. Karma Loop is "coo",,the white dude there is the nicest cat in the world. Overall the Boston cats were super chill...very helpful outside of that spot in Harvard Square where those dudes are pretty much dick heads outside this one head I copped my 10 deep hoody from. Really the thing I found was hurting the most in Boston was the music scene. But the streetwear was hooot. Can't wait to go back and visit in a couple of months!

One I was clarifying my own comment about race. I don't want me saying he sounds "white" to be confused with whites can't be funky. This dude who's music you posted...to me..he's not funky. I don't mention my own shit on this board really. I think there might be 2 posts out of 144 or whatever I have on here where I mention my own shit. Cause personally I came up in an era where you have to have the respect of your peers. A bunch of dudes circle jerking each other's Myspace doesn't make you dope. Personally I like myspace for networking..but I don't get it twisted. On this board I'm just another dude. I just like posting here cause there's people like Sub and Matt and some other dudes who know what they're talking about and make it fun to post. But here's the thing...explain to me why this dude is dope? Music is subjective..that I can agree on. Cause I don't think he's dope doesn't mean someone else doesn't. But like I said "to me" he's unfunky, the shit he's rhyming on is stale. The question is...would Hip Hop heads give it up to this dudes...would Lord Finnesse say "this dude is nice?". And dunzilla...stop using the word "hate" wrong..and using quotes out of context isn't hot. The Chicago "hate" Kanye is talking about has little to do with someone saying someone's myspace music page is wak. Let's just end this and say "we disagree"

it's not "hatin"(i wish people would start using this word correctly). the dude isn't dope. if by differently you mean a white dude rapping extra stiff over unfunky live music..sorry dunzilla..every city has a grip of them. and it's not even a "white" issue to clarify...cause Jake One is from Seattle and he's one of the funkiest dudes out there and he's white. he kills it on production. then you have someone like that white dude from the east coast down with lupe who absolutely sucks. the race thing secondary just to get that out the way.
