[Quote]Looks like something from New Generation.... Am I right?  If not, please shoot me a PM and I'd like to possibly trade some sources with you (if you're interested in doing so...) EDIT:  After looking at previous posts, your logo does seem very similar to "alife", but I think by switching your font a little bit, you should be alright.  It doesn't help when the two names are VERY similar, but something as little as changing your font could make all the difference.  Maybe even hand draw your logo and then work with it in Illustrator.

[Quote]Honestly... just use the logo that you have for the "o" and then simply write "OFF THE MAP" underneath it.

[Quote]Thanks man... when you say generic... is that a bad thing?  Or is the simplicity a good move on my behalf?

[Quote]thanks for the input fam... we tried that at first and it just didn't really appeal to me... we tried it with and without borders and I just couldn't bring myself to be satisfied with it... we finally went with the white text over the black background and had the inverted hover to kind of capture both color schemes.... I'm still on the fence about it but thank you for the input... much appreciated homie.

Hey guys, had a buddy of mine start working on a website for my brand... it's not 100% finished yet, but I was hoping to get some feedback on here so I know what I should fix, change, re-design, etc.  The 'SHOP' and 'BLOG' still need a lot of work, but I'm mainly just looking for some feedback on the layout.  I was trying to keep it really simple and to the point.  Let me know what you think.  Thanks. For anyone who really needs some guidelines with starting a brand, creating a logo, or working with other people in the industry without looking like a retard you should check out this blog -> [URL] You don't have to follow this step by step, but you will definitely pick up some valid pointers.  Hope it helps.

I'm going to start this post off with a disclaimer: *I am not lazy, I am not asking for the answer to just fall in my lap, and YES, I have attempted to research this and have come back with nothing but very poor results* With that being said,  does anyone have any information that could help me find a manufacturer for woven labels (for shirts/beanies) that does NOT require a resale number?  In return, I can link you to my source that does require a resale number but you can get the woven tags for less than a penny/piece.  Looking to trade some info here, please PM me or shoot me an e-mail (pvdsk8@gmail.com) if you'd like to trade sources.  Thanks guys.

[Quote]I've seen worse and I've seen better.... I just feel like this lacks a bit of originality... My main suggestion would be to change the name to something not so generic; maybe something that incorporates neat but is more than just a four letter word.   Also, when coming up with designs and a logo you need to be working towards a certain image.... You posted one picture with polka dots and an animal hiding in the corner, but then the next one is smooth and simple.  I understand you want to switch it up a bit, but you need to keep a certain vibe going.  Literally changing your name from NEAT to something like "Pretty Neat" (sorry for the bad example) could make a world of difference.  It seems like you are starting off on the right foot though and these designs can easily be improved....  Also, where in Rhode Island are you from?  I live here myself and it would be cool to chat with someone local who shares the same dream, ya know?

@ryder thanks very much my man, I appreciate the input.  Only thing that had me leaning towards getting the resale number sooner than later was that a lot of the manufacturers I have come across seem to require one.  For now, I guess I will have to just keep searching and put those on the back burner.

@shillco thanks man i really appreciate it... and yeah i've looked into the reseller license, i just wasn't sure if people had found a way around it (to save money on the fees) or if i was better off just sucking it up and paying for it right off the bat and I seem to have found my answer... Thanks again for helping me out homie!

So I've got a few questions and I appreciate any feedback or answers to any of them... I'm fairly new to this whole process but I've definitely done my fair share of "homework" when it comes to starting a brand and making sure I do it correctly.  There are just a few things I haven't found appropriate answers to... 1.  Do most of you guys get your shirts right through the person or place screenprinting/embroidering your logo onto them (assuming you aren't going to be doing that yourself) or would you sign up for a site such as alstyle, gildan, anvil, etc. and set up an account and go about it that way?  or just keep a look out for a solid manufacturer? 2.  Does anyone have a resale number?  I know that it's a good idea to register your business and get the retail sales certificate and eventually get the resale number but is that something that necessarily needs to be done right away?  (yes, I will be selling my product on the internet) 3.  With so much competition in this industry (and on these forums) I know that asking someone who they use as a manufacturer is pretty outlandish because that information is very valuable, but do you use multiple manufacturers (i.e one place for shirts, one place for silk tags, one place for beanies, etc.)  or should I be looking for a place that does all of the above (if that even exists)? I apologize if any of these questions have already been answered or previously addressed... I have tried searching but just haven't had much luck with these issues... Any help is appreciated... thanks guys.
