One of Europe’s most revered streetwear imprints is Slam Jam Socialism — a Ferrara-based store founded by Luca Benini in 1989. Bringing together his home country’s rich subcultures with trends and styles he picked up through travels abroad, Benini launched Slam Jam to bring together the finest in music, art, fashion and footwear under one roof. As one of the initial stores to import Japanese labels such as SOPHNET., UNDERCOVER and uniform experiment, Benini’s careful curation of niche and high-end brands has garnered a loyal following in both Italy and globally via its e-commerce store. Having expanded over the course of time, Slam Jam also overlooks Carhartt, Stussy and NikeLab distribution stores, while its Milan and Ferrara stores continue to drive our culture forward with pop-up galleries, screenings and special events. This past year, Benini launched a new retail space in Milan as well as collaborations with VLONE, Know Wave, adidas, ASICS and more.
