Just thought I would make an official Portland thread. For shops I go to JustBe and Lifted. Plus Niketown is good with the Jordans. Any spots I missed. I hate upperplayground and caviar is dope if your into expensive fake shit.

Lifted is one of the best shops for shoes and t-shirts in Portland. They have dropped their undrcrwn layout shoes prices to $60 in men sizes 9-10.5 (might have other sizes). Just stopped there today after school. Tribute is pretty sick and same with Cal's Pharmacy if you're into skate clothing. What does JustBe carry? Never heard of it.

If you think Lifted is the best in Portland you are gonna freak out when you go to Just Be/Compound. Although they seem to be carrying a lot less shoes nowadays (the entire rack facing Upper Playground is now gone? ).

imo lifted is weak, I don't wear any brands they sell. They are alright in kicks, but I really just go to Justbe. It is far and away the best spot in the rose city

are JustBe and Lifted the only places to shop at in portland? definitely want to look at the clothes i buy firsthand before i get em, but i might just have to get everything online. if you like j's you should try to find a hookup to bes (employee store). they come out with retro's every month, at least last i heard. ex-employee =)

upper playground is alright and its right next to justbe. There arent new retros every month, but they are frequent. Niketown for Jays and justbe for the rest. Lifted also will have the new Jays when they release

why not grab some j's from bes for 40% off? i used to work at nike employee in beaverton, and they'd always have retro's out every month. know anybody that works there? maybe it's just cause i lived in beaverton, but hookups seem to be pretty easy if you live in that location

anybody been noticing that all people with lower income are movin to like beaverton and gresham? I was on Alberta yesterday and I saw about two black people in the swarm of those yuppie white people while I was there which was a good two hours. 10 years ago, whitey would not be insight of Alberta unless he was a fuckin crack fiend. GENTRIFICATION? I think so.

No it is on Hancock st, but you are right about it being next to DOS...in fact they share the same address according to the shop.

Here is straight from DOS site:

The Dept. of Skateboarding is located @
15 NE Hancock
Portland, OR 97212
(directly next door to Cal

How long have you lived in Portland? It has been heading in this general direction for years. Actually Alberta isn't a great example anyway as it is considered an arts district. Albina is really the area that got hit hard...but it was to be expected as there are limited areas that regular people can afford anymore that are anywhere near the city core.

Gresham has been poor since the beginning of time tho, just maybe not as ethnically diverse.

***I'm editing this 6 hours later as I just got off the phone with my friend. He is in a rehab program house that is a few blocks from DOS and was talking about how one of the topics in their house meeting was "all the little white skater kids hanging around". I found it pretty timely considering the gentrification post...pretty good example right there smile

Speaking of, anyone going to that Flip demo on Friday at Dept?
