Google's "Project Glass", Real Life HUD/HMD

So from what I understand, this is a pair of glasses that uses Android software to be able to do everything, from taking pictures/video, to translations, and even web site search, seamlessly and nearly effortlessly.
Is this the "future of technology"? Google comes up with the craziest ideas..
