Honestly I would get the T2i since the only mani difference is the swivel screen on the t3i. If you need that feature, then go for it but since the t4i just came out you can find the t2i for pretty cheap

I'd take the T2i and just spend the money you're saving on good glass. I had a T2i and loved it. Magic Lantern firmware on it was dope!

I have a t2i and love it! no need to spend the extra for t3i unless you need a swivel screen for videos. if not stick with the 2. I got mine for $500 bnib

look around for deals. t3i was just on sale yesterday with a kit lens for 469.99 which is much cheaper then body only t2i. but on your average day yes t2i will be cheaper and the only difference is the swivel screen really. you gotta get on that deal hunting though. Check out ebay daily deals and amazon. there are always some good finds on there.

I have the t3i and i use it for filming skating and thats the only reason i got it since it has the swivel screen. If i wasnt filming and just shooting stills i would go for the t2i

50mm f/1.8 is what everyone suggests though with the crop factor its around a 82mm which is good for portraits and that's about it. its still a fast lens for the relatively cheap (100 dollar) price. There's a deal on BH for the 50mm f/1.4 for 299 which is a pretty decent price for the speed.

Unless you're shooting videos or using live view a lot get the t2i.

if you're shooting video, the t3i, the swivel screen - although you can't input headphones to hear audio output directly

t2i can do this, hackable firmware but no swivel screen
