I prefer the S3 because that's what I have, but I know a guy who got the S3 the same time I did, used it for a little while and was first in line to get the Iphone 5 when it came out. It's just preference. I also know that he had a predilection for iOS because he's had an Iphone since 1st generation up until S3. In my honest opinion, most android phones (especially the S3) are more impressive than the Iphone in hardware and internal features/software/interface.

S3 has better hardware but Apple's OS just works. No glitches, isn't choppy. The shit works.

I think it's all about preference. I went from a galaxy S2 to an iPhone and I'm happy with the switch. For what I use my phone for, the iPhone is perfect. The galaxy is a nice phone but I didn't really care for all the extra stuff it offers.

Having used both, I like the s3 a lot better. You can do so much more with android than you can with ios. Plus the bigger screen is super nice

you should be using go sms for your messaging app. there is a go sms emoji plugin that allows you to use emoji for your text messages. as far as using them for internet/instagram/etc...shit out of luck.

if you were to root an s3 and tamper with the CPU speeds / sd card read/write speeds / voltages, it would benchmark higher than the iphone

in my opinion, i would take the s3. i used to have an iphone, and theres nothing wrong with it. it is a good phone...but the only problem is that apple severely restricts customization. with the android OS you can literally do next to anything you can think of with your phone. install new roms, new themes, tinker with voltages/cpu speeds for better battery life, overclock your phone for higher performance, etc.

some people prefer the simplicity of iOS, really its all just a matter of what you want out of the phone

nah i get emoji on my twitter/instagram/web, and it comes in the stock text messaging app. but its more involved. im running 4.1 jellybean on a custom rom (AOKP). really all you have to do is root your phone and pick the right rom to enable the emoji

i've got an i5 on vzw. impatiently waiting for the jailbreak and want something to tinker around with. assuming i can just swap out the sim like on gsm, what are my options for android phones if i get a nano to micro adaptor? do all the LTE android phones on vzw have a sim? i was looking at the nexus 4 until i realized its only pentaband 3g so no vzw.

yo HB got a question. Hypothetically: if I were to use my upgrade to cop an S3 on Black Friday, which means I have to purchase a data plan. But if I end up selling the phone, do i still have to pay for the data even if I'm not using a smartphone after?

I don't know about the u.s., but in Canada smartphones are only subsidised on data based plans. You can buy out of the data plan, I think that's usually about half of the normal buyout. So if you get an s3 for 1 dollar, you might still make money on the resale even after factoring in the buyout.
