what would you guys choose to buy and why?
I'm getting a new phone fairly soon, and would like some input from you hb members. I've had both android and ios before and enjoy them both equally.

Well it's personally up to your liking. Both phones are very good at what they can do, performance wise, speed, camera, etc. I personally have an iPhone 4, but just bought the Galaxy S3 International Edition and guess what, it's amazing.

there are many comparison articles as well as the vids on youtube n google.

iphone if u want the seamless integration of all ur apple products. better design, better OS.

S3 if u want detachable battery, better hardware of all for the same $$, droid os allows their users to customize it, and u can get a micro SD card to expand the storage.

i'd personally go with S3 cuz overall its a better product than iphone for about the same price. iPhone's OS and their fancy design can be the deciding factors for some tho.

Get the international SGS3. Root it and install CM10 or XenonHD. Or, get the new Note II that comes with the same CPU as the international S3, the Exynos 4412.

Reasons:
GoogleNow
GoogleMaps and all Google services
Exynos 4412
2 GB RAM (New note II and GT-I9305 version of S3)
Expandable storage
Mali 400 GPU

iPhone is good, but with iOS6 doing away with some Google services, I just can't recommend it anymore. Although the A6 chip seems like a solid chip.

Seriously? Apple uses 3G on their devices for a solid 18-24 months after HSPA+ becomes the standard, and once they make the jump to LTE, people start questioning the speed of non-LTE devices? HSPA+ is as fast as you'll need on a mobile device with a data cap. IF you have unlimited, LTE is useful, but there's no sense in 100mbps if that just means you're going to shoot through your allotted bandwidth in 8 days. HSPA+ is 21/42mbps, which is as fast/faster than most cable/dsl connections.

Waiting on that S4 drop doe, the fact that the S3 is very close on par with the iPhone 5 is a joke. What's even more funny how the iPhone running some Samsung parts haha. Samsung finna sell Apple their old technology and run that dope shit in the S4.

I can't speak for the US, but I honestly cannot see any reason the phone would go on EDGE. If I drop H+ signal, it goes to 3G. My phone is only HSPA+14.4 and it's still plenty fast when not on 3G.

Honestly, I'd stay away from Sammy in the future, unless they change their materials and ditch TouchWiz, especially if you're uncomfortable with rooting/unlocking the bootloader. The next Nexus phone is the way to go if you want a great stock experience. Right now though, I think the newest Note II is the best out.

That's funny, the S2 has some of the best lowlight photos/videos I've ever seen, I can't imagine the s3 is worse. Sammy and HTC have some of the best sensors on the market.

One thing I don't understand with each phone is the quest to make them as thin as possible. My GS2 is too thin IMO without a cover and both the S3 and i5 are thinner -- that would get on my nerves trying to hold. Match iphone 5, there need some fit waterproof iphone 5 case. Seems like they should make them a little thicker so you can actually hold them without a cover.

I've got an s3, i love the phone to death - although i admit the iPhone5 may have the edge slightly now. As soon as Jellybean is out - It's not even gonna be close.

Don't be scared, flash a port of CM10, apparently 99% of everything works and is daily drivable.

I was refering to the One X/XL/S/whatevers. Personally, I'd never fuck with an HTC. However, you bullshittin'. I had a 3GS, camera was bad, really bad. My Atrix with its weak ass 5MP sensor takes better photos than the 3GS. iOS camera is over-simplified, if you set up the camera before specific shots on an Android phone they come out better.
