start with a t2i if you want something cheap and can control exposure. its a good starter for video.
Don't badmind me.
Do people use camcorders anymore because I see some good quality shit out.

consumer camcorders no. Sensors are too small and there isn't enough manual controls. DSLRs and prosumer cameras are what the good quality is. Panasonic AF100, Sony FS100, Canon C300 etc.
And lol @ buddy up there saying you needa spent 1200 for a decent setup w the t2i. First of all you should never record audio to the camera especially canons because of their AGC, even with the Rode Videomic you will still get hissing. Cop a t2i, a nifty fifty, and the manfrotto 561BHDV and you got yourself a solid setup for around 700 bucks. you dont need a fucking glidecam lmao you serious b?

I dont shoot canon bc canon dslrs suck ass for video. Only shoot panasonic. Moving shots you can get a slider for nearly half the price of a glidecam or a pico dolly for 10 times less than a glidecam.
