Theres isnt one yet correct?

First off, I dont know shit about computers, so there. Well Im tryna get a laptop. 13 inch, Intel core i3 or i5. Im just using it for basic stuff, moderate gaming, movies, videos, internet and such. nothing more than $900, so no apple. Im also not looking for the best of the best right now, cause soon they would release something better than that. I dont know shit bout specs, so yeah. So can anyone help me choose a laptop

if you are spending 900 you should go for the intel i5. RAM should be at least 4gb for a decent computer. I think they go up to 8gb now. For harddrive space i would recommend 500gb and up but it depends on how much shit you have. But also know that free harddrive space effects how fast your computer will run. As for video cards and stuff, i wouldnt look into anything ridiculous. Laptops weren't really meant for gaming so whatever you prefer. I find that nVidia is easier to manage than Radeon but like i said, its all preference.

i would go with this but im a bit biased towards Vaios. I have a Vaio that was a hand me down and it works great. My cousin has a Vaio and it works great. My friend has a Vaio and he runs League of Legends while looking at tumblrs and shit. Hope i helped some.

Asus makes some great computers but their computers cost $$$$.... Alot of great specs come out of Asus and usually great build quality.

I can also vouch for Vaio..... and he should be able to get a great computer for $900... Also I wouldn't get an Apple computer.... You'll be able to find a good computer especially during the holiday season.

Go with the ASUS.

The ASUS has:

- Better processor
- Better graphics and has Optimus to switch between integrated and dedicated graphics card to save battery life. The Acer only has integrated graphics.
- Better warranty

But, I don't think the ASUS is really portable. Amazon says it weighs 5.72 lbs. The Acer is lighter and more portable but if you want portable, you should look at ASUS' UL line. The webcam on the ASUS is shitty too lol.

I currently have a MBP but I'm thinking about getting a Windows based machine some time in the next 3-4 months due to the release of Diablo 3. I'm not sure if I should go for a laptop or build a desktop. The desktop will be much cheaper but the laptop will allow me to play Diablo 3 at work and shit. Feel free to recommend some shit for Diablo 3.

but that would require a new mother board and thats the thing i usually cheap out on. plus with pci-e 3.0 coming out soon. and with out current gen gfx cards in 3.0 waiting for new tech to drop would see a hige price jump putting me over budget. and lol my chritmas bonus definetly helped me out

not quite done yet. soundcard, speakers, and naga mouse haven't come in at the store for me to pick up and I also switched the ram to corsair vengence 16 gb kit since it was on sale. gunna over clock processor to at least 4.5, would run it higher but im cooling on air here. and i might leave the graphics card clock speeds alone till i see the time when i need to. probably after a few sessions of metro 2033.

any i5 or i7 or AMD phenom II laptop with a gtx 540+ or AMD HD 6500+ or 7000+ series gpu would be fine.

if you wanna build a rig and you already have all the peripherals( mouse, speaker, monitor, keyboard), a new gaming one will always be cheaper than a 15" MBP. not only that, you don't get the mobile versions of the processors and gpu so you pay less and you get more performance.

minus the monitor, keyboard, mouse, and extra fans/filters, system alone was just a little over 1450 CAD. the monitor was on impulse since it was on sale for 150. in total I paid about 1730 before taxes. but damn those environmental/electronic government fees. and taxes. fuck. thats what raped me the most.

what about just running parallels/boot camp on your mbp? or will diablo3 be too much for that?

i've got a samsung qx410, which is basically a samsung ripoff of a macbook pro. i use it for video and photo editing (adobe cs5.5), serato and all the other usual stuff. it has an intel core i5 processor (2.53ghz), 8 gb ram (came with 4, upgraded the ram), nvidia geforce 310m graphics. i pulled the oem 600gb hard drive and put in a 128gb ssd. i can render in after effects reasonably well (for considering it's a laptop) and playback raw avchd files fullscreen (1080p/24fps or 720p/60fps) no problem. i really like it, and it was i think $800. my next laptop is probably going to be another samsung. i'd like to build a dedicated editing rig someday..just gotta get the funds for it

So I had my Hp Dv7 which started off with 6 gb RAM fixed around September/October as it was constantly going into forced hibernation. HP never had an answer for this. Well I was wondering the other day why was it running sorta slow as I never usually have much up at one time so I went and changed properties of my computer and they took out 4 gbs of RAM. Worse part they never told me on the repair form it only says replaced fan. Now it's coming out that the computer messes up and the motherboard with more than 2 GB of DDR3-1333 RAM but that's the ram it takes. I am wondering does anyone think HP may be able to refund me for my computer and my fake fix. And if not what could I sell this one for it's the Dv7 4080us pretty much standard setup with i7 first gen? Then what should I buy as my replacement laptop I am getting about 1k from taxes and could prob scrap together about 500.

Take the $1500 cash that you've got, then sell the Dv7. You could pobably get around 500-800 since it has an i7 (provided that it's in good condition). With all that cash you could afford a PC that could just about do everything, and still have cash left over to buy a small netbook/laptop.

RadeonHD6870 hands down best bang for your buck and for 50-70 bucks over you can get the gtx560 ti or 6950 and over clock them to match a gtx570 and RadeonHD 6970s stock speeds.

the 6870 is still a pretty powerful card for its price point

keep it mind, MMOs and DOTA style games have low spec reqs compared to the other genres. so the 6870 would just destroy both games.
