i have several questions if someone can answer all of them. .

-currently have a 3G and the 2 yr contract ended 3 mos ago
-interested in iphone 4 or 4s
-what's the adv of purchasing one of the phones for full retail over the 2 yr contract?
-if i currently am on a family plan with shared mins and unlmtd data, would i have to completely change up my monthly plan + payment with the 4?

In your situation, where you are on a family plan and you still have the real unlimited data plan, there would be no real advantage to purchasing it at full retail. That is unless you plan on parting ways with AT&T in < 2 years. Your unlimited data plan will be grandfathered over to your 4S.

Untethered iOS5 Jailbreak is finally available via redsn0w 0.9.10. Nice considering I just got a iphone 4 32gb 3 days ago. Only thing is it isn't available for the 4s or iPad 2 yet.

I recommend it, battery life is pretty good but I usually charge my 3GS every night anyway so it doesn't matter to me.

File as in the same profile as your old iPhone? Just sync your new iPhone to the computer you used to normally sync your old iPhone, then just choose to restore from your old phone's name.

i use my iphone 4s as a music player. from the time i unplug it from the charger to the time i charge it again, it lasts me 16 hrs and thats around 20%. if i play games though thats a whole different story lol

Having a separate iPod is retarded. Unless you have a 120gb classic with a vast collection you just can't live without. I think the beauty of these devices is the functionality of many great devices compressed into one, and so you don't have to carry many devices but one. Same thing for the iphone camera. I actually like the iPhone camera alot. The quality of the pictures the phone takes surprised me. And so unless I need a more powerful camera with me there would be no use to carry another point and shoot.


But concerning the battery life, you won't tell the difference between your ipod and the phone at all. And it also matters how much you use the other features and what not.

^That mirror case sucks, it will hurt your eyes.

And I also use my iPhone as a music player as well, only because it has 3g and Pandora. Otherwise I would use a different iPod to play my songs because I dont want to keep plugging and unplugging the cable on my phone cuz it might fuck up the jack connector.

this! i like how the glass screan feels and the responsiveness. plus, its not that hard to keep your screen from being scratched. especially if u have a case on it that hovers it when it's face down. just dont put anything in the same pocket as your iphone.

the iphone is a phone and an ipod, why would you get two? the battery life when playing music is actually very good. just be weary of the other variables when doing so. for instance, turn your brightness down, kill all the other apps, etc.

Yo ima just pick up a 4s.
But again idk should I get 16 or 32 gb?
Since I've been going on 8 gb for the last couple years I only have 6.7 of of the 15.3 gb in my library.
I don't see me adding those because I removed them for a reason. Would the extra 16 gb justify the $100?

^ i opted for a 32gb iPhone bc I have such a huge selection of music. if u have 15.3gb of music in ur library, get the 32gb... you're gonna need like ~2gb of space to run the software anyway, and it leaves you plenty of other room to add more music and still have space for apps and such.

i cant wait until I have a 64gb iPhone in my hands! but that wont be until my contract is up, in another 1 1/2 yrs. >,<

It's the best free texting service that includes in and out calls,and voice mail,plus incoming calls are absolutely free,and paying for minutes is cheap as fuck.1000 minutes for 5 bucks.its a done deal.

Yup. Just download OpenSSH on Cydia so you'll always be able to SSH (can switch off from SB Settings) and use any of those programs in the list and you're set.
