I know its a little late in the year, but hey it wasnt a thread for it. I'm sure people are fans of the game like I am. So discuss nigs >sad>sad

My Blue Jackets are making a push for the playoffs this year. Rick Nash and the boys are killing it.

I was wondering where the hockey thread was...

I'm a Senators fan, so all I have left to hope for is that they sell at the trading deadline, and keep losing to get a lottery pick, and try and rebuild a bit... Trading a first round pick the other day scares me that they may not realize that they're finished for this year, and sacrifice more of the future for right now.

On a Jackets-related note, it is nice to see the central division not be a joke anymore, and see Columbus, Chicago, and St. Louis not out of playoff contention by Christmas like they usually are.

the west is a much more exciting division in terms of the playoff race

the east has atlanta, islanders, the leafs, the lightning...and other such teams that are perinally out of the race

in the west you cant really count anyone out

Not this year, but for the last decade or so, you could pretty safely count out St. Louis, Chicago, Columbus, Phoenix, and L.A.

its sad to say it but my avalanche r prolly out, they jsut dont have teh balance they did during the Roy era, they struggle too much goin from goalie to goalie, and their defense isnt great nemore

Congrats to Marty Brodeur for his 552 win, i personally was always a Roy fan, but always knew that Brodeur was gonna break his record sooner or later. But no point in trying to compare whose better, any NHL team would gladly take either of them in their prime

Brodeur is a beast. He's still got several good seasons in him. It'd be perfect if he broke the shutout record this season too.

ovechkin was going nuts last night, something like 13 shots on goal...if they had a somewhat reliable goalie they could go far

the ducks are looking very good right now, their series with detroit should be great. If they beat detroit then they'll go to the finals.
