I take a multivitamin and protein powder to supplement a low fat diet. Exercise and diet are 99% of the equation; people put too much thought into supplements and chemicals because they want an easy fix.

I'm just starting to work out, because I'm 15. How many times should I take whey protein a day? Is it safe for teens to use casein/ should I pick some up?

honestly at 15 maybe just like a healthy breakfast lunch and dinner with plently of vegetables and lots of protein rich meats or eggs, with a protein shake before & after you should be good.

at 15 your still developing son!

Since starting Crossfit I have looked at shakes differently. I'd rather get my protien from food compared to a shake that won't even fill me up.

A grilled chicken breast with veggies on the side, compared to a shake that will take 30secs. to drink?!

I'm also attempting the Paleo diet too, no dairy or grains/bread/wheats. Strictly lean meats/fish, veggies, fruits and nuts/seeds. The only thing I drink nwo is water too.

My 24hr fitness is having a sale on muscle milk protein powder. A jug of 2.47 lbs for 20 bucks. Good deal? Is muscle milk good shit? 300 calories per serving though. Seems pretty high to me

Muscle Milk is garbage, my school sells that & its terrible.
There's a lot of fat in muscle milk, if you're looking at protein shakes go for the ones with less fat.

& as for the 300 calories, you can drink muscle milk before working out, so you're basically supposed to burn it off.

I recently started a new diet with excercising & its been working pretty damn good.
I am asian so I used to eat rice all the time, I've cut out rice & all breads except wheat bread from my diet. Been eating a lot of meats, fish, vegetables, & fruits. Also, just been drinking water only. Not eating rice is hard because my family always cooks asian food which is usually great with rice but I've learned to eat it without rice lol.

Also been doing Ab Ripper X every other day (M/W/F). Thinking about doing Insanity with it so I can get my cardio in. I'm not much of a runner.

Well are you worried about your calorie intake? How much protein per serving?

And I just got back from the gym, I just ate some grilled chicken breast with sauteed onions mixed with 3 eggs, scrambled. For breakfast I had a grilled chicken breast salad, and last night for lunch and dinner I had a steak salad. It's not all salads, but you gotta work with what you got.

I definitely suggest EAS Whey Protein rather than Muscle Milk. You can choose 1 scoop or 2 scoops, so you can control calories that way.

How often do you plan on taking these shakes? Since your trying to lose weight, I'd say just PWO(post work out). Also, what are your stats?

I used to take one before and after I worked out but now I'm probably just gonna take one after. I'm 5'9"ish and maybe 190 lbs.

I'd start with 2500-3000 cals a day, cardio 3 times a week and 2-3 days of weight lifting. See how that goes for a couple weeks and adjust as needed.

I'd do 2 scoops post workout within 5 minutes of the end of your workout. You can get EAS at Target, sometimes on sale for $20, 2 pounds.

Not too familiar with multis, but I'd just take it as suggested on the back of the bottle.

And the quote in ur sig is from a Spitta song right?

umm look at the profile of the shake you are taking. it really depends your goal. But if you don't know what you're doing, don't bother getting protein shakes.

Oh and muscle milk and eas are both known of having lead, arsenic etc in them.

is it a "1 a day" pill? if so i'd recommend another multivitamin, like a 2-3 a day. they absorb a lot better and usually better quality overall.

Your right bro, my blunder. I weighed myself on a different scale this time, and I guess it was calibrated differently.
But I weighed myself again on the same scale as I did on the 12th and im 183lbs-185lbs. Also, I was give'n a skinfold test, OMRON test and tape measured and im 5.92% body fat, 174.05lbs of Lean Mass and 10.95lbs of fat mass.

Since your tying to lose weight I would just stick to getting my protein from foods. That way your eating more meals through the day and that'll help you mentally as well.

Getting that protein to your muscles after a hard workout will help you lose weight. You'll be able to recover faster, your muscles will grow more, and then you can work harder.

If you want to burn fat I'd pick up running. This just coming from a guy who's lost over 50lbs since fall of last year. I tried out interval training but it wasn't until I started 3 miles+ that I really started to lose weight on a consistent basis.

Get creative man. I use to mix my CC with nuts, nutella, protein powder(when i use to take it) and other shit. I eat everything so fast, I don't have time to savor the flavor anyways lol
