I play other sports and i wanna just do skateboarding as a hobby, it seems good socially and people say its very fun

What would you recommend i start with?

Also, what difference does deck size have?

just get a half decent set up and start rolling around the streets/parks, your other sports will soon become obsolete as the skating bug takes over, enjoy

Cruisers are great to just fuck around on. I'm planning on putting together a Krooked Zip-Zinger soon. Those Vinyl cruisers are way too small for me. I still want to be able to pop a good ollie on one.

A little bit more expensive than the stereo vinyl but the Penny's have better wheels, so its worth it.

I play tennis about 4-5 times a week, one of those days actually being a league match. I try to play soccer whenever I get the chance, which is probably about 1 ever other week (depends on my schedule).
I don't skate as much anymore. Between school, work, and other sports, I skate maybe once or twice a week if I'm lucky to fit it in. I haven't been on a board in a month. About to take a trip out to the Philippines, so hopefully I can get some good skating done out there at some cool spots.

Just got the Stereo Vinyl Cruiser. Changed the bearings to some Bones Reds.

This is my first time skating. Fell once while riding around town. I think my foot placement is fucked up because I can't control my direction.

Any tips? I'm liking it a lot so far.

mark suciu never fails to impress me, his parts are so incredibly creative and his style is flawless

heard the Girl/Chocolate vid is coming as soon as September?? the next Fully Flared without a doubt but what i'm really waiting for is the new antwuan part (fingers crossed) in the deathwish video. i think the reason it's taking so long is because he's about to pull a Guy Mariano and murk this shit
can't forget the other triple og's tho like lizard king, greco, ellington, slash and furby

FUCKK

Yeah I'm a first timer too, fell also haha. Try changing your foot placement and see how you ride. Personally, prefer for my toes to point diagonally. Or it could be that the trucks are too tight, try loosening em. Hope this helps

Yeah I skate casually, play basketball and baseball as well. I have to be in the mood to skate but I'm always in the mood to play basketball.

Played ice hockey for 13 years. Miss the shit out of it.
Play golf for the past 21 years of my life. Used to be daily, but since I'm not a country club member anymore, I don't have the funds to play as much.

I have one of those penny cruisers. It's pretty fun. I really like surfing the sidewalks and carving around parking lots and slopes. The wheels are super soft, so it grips great for quick turns, but they've chipped a bit in the first couple months I've had my board. I loosened my trucks up a bit and now it zips around so easily. Make sure you dont loosen em too much or you won't be able to take bigger hills.

I loosened my cruiser trucks a bit and it was definitely easier to skate.

Bad thing is my neighborhood has old rough pavement. I made the mistake of just wearing denim + a white tee. Now I have bloody elbows.

Try avoiding pavements that are rough as hell, the stock wheels that come with Stereos and Pennys aren't up to par from what I've been told. Gonna cop some softer wheels sooner in the summer.

Anyone here longboards? Could use some expertise haha
