Kelly Slater just won a 9th world title yesterday. Don't know how many surfers are on this board, but even if you don't surf, you can appreciate the greatness.

You guys are crazy. I don't know how many of you have ever surfed, but it definitely takes athleticism, especially on the scale that Kelly does it. Mike had 6 rings and really dominated for 10 years, Tiger still isn't the best golfer in history (yet),Micheal Phelps was amazing but...no. Kelly has been doing this for 16 years and he took like a two year hiatus. No teammates or anything, solo. I guess you have to surf or have surfed to appreciate it.

i'm with you balls deep, slater is seriously not human. he's taking on every challenger for the past decade and he's shitted on them. getting 10's on final waves to win contests is fucked, and he's done it so many damn times.

i hear he has a 10 million dollar incentive from quiksilver if he gets 10, rightfully deserved.

Good point. Gretzky was a force on the ice. Definitely the best hockey player ever.

Slater is amazing. He is by far one of the most prolific athletes ever. His skill has spanned generations in surfing. He isn't old school or new school...he just adapts and dominates.

If u have doubts about Kelly just YouTube a vid of him
surfing indo or third reef pipe. Or anywhere, he makes the sport look effortless,when in reality surfing is one of the most difficult sports (besides golf).
