48/16. i really have to shift forward to skid without foot retention. im getting a 17t cog soon. other than more skid patches, does it make that much of a difference?

yeah, one tooth is huge.

I occasionally run 48/19t, I don't have to get out of the saddle to skid.

51/18 aint a very high ratio, just a really big chainring

freight bags makes a bike box, but it's pretty expensive, around $250

Not a big ratio at all. 76 or so inches.

Just not spinny, like lower tooth ratios.

And doesn't wear down the teeth as fast, either ;)

i'd actually say it's a pretty good price for a large luggage bag. handmade using plastic and cordura.

oooof that bike up there is hideous.
single speed is fun, but if i was running on a coaster bike, why not throw some gears on there.
fixed is a totally different experience, i prefer it for being completely one with the bike, but some have difficulties with that.

just try it out .

you have a lot good choices out there. all those brands/models babyshoe said are all good. but i recommend mercier kilo tt. only 350 i believe. so that leaves extra money for new wheels and shit. >smh

What is a good gear ratio that allows easy skidding? I am currently running 46x15 and have a hard time skidding without leaning forward. I live in socal so there are hardly any hills.
