Official Fixed Gear Thread

i honestly don't care about weight, but they do fit into the beefy/indestructible category.

They very well do, but I am a kid with a minimum wage job so I am just trying to keep it nice and cheap. I am sure we both love our bikes so that's what matters.

Mar 27, 2010 @ 12:28
im sure yall already know this but: Walmart is selling Fixies now.

idk how i feel about this. Yes, it is just another example of a major company tryin to cash in on a underground lifestyle. but on the other hand, it might provide those on a budget who really wanna get into it a chance.... even if the parts are crappy.

i wouldn't pay anything under 300 for a budget fixed gear

all my friends have fixies down here in Irvine, which seems pretty out of place. They are nice bikes, but i tried ridin em and for some reason, I just cant get use to em. Almost ate shit once tryin to stop...

But i got my baby here though tongueface No one can touch me, 10 speeds of pure fun.
Mar 29, 2010 @ 22:46
interesting... someone that doesn't have a track bike but owns a bianchi. I'm digging the celeste saddle.
Mar 31, 2010 @ 22:21
^ that actually came stock with the bike along with the celeste grip tape, but i had to switch to black since they got dirty quick.
Mar 31, 2010 @ 22:29
Arione? yummy.

yea, the Fi'zik's are real nice. And i have the platforms cuz im too lazy to switch shoes because i use the bike to get to class everyday. I do have a pair of VP pedals for weekend rides though, but they are just entry level ones.

I own a '86 road bike which I converted to single speed, but I plan to convert back into a 10 speed or just buy a new road bike because I don't like the feel of the single speed. I also own a purple low rider, which I plan to sell. It was formerly a girl's low rider bike with several "star" stickers on it, but I just removed them all. Now, it is just a plain purple low rider, which I ride sometimes.

Sick road bike! Makes me want to get a pista concept

man, before you drop any money, you should definitely try riding one first. Your previous post made it sound like you're just gettin into fixies. They're really not for everyone.
Apr 06, 2010 @ 11:28
i been had rode my friend's. but his is expensive smh
Apr 06, 2010 @ 13:18
Andy.Get the Windsor Hour or you can be lucky and find a great bike on OC Craigslist. I'm constantly looking. Maybe I can help you out. What's your budget?
Apr 06, 2010 @ 17:03
like around 300-400ish. unless you can find a steal for a real nice one

you can get a new fuji track for that much.
Apr 06, 2010 @ 22:16
That's a good looking Bianchi a page back. I took my friend's road bike (platforms too) for a spin the other day, lost control while coasting (lapse of judgment...forgot about using the brakes to control speed) and bit it. Tore up his bartape and now he's pissed. I guess I take the precision control of fixed for granted!
Apr 07, 2010 @ 17:05
the tape would be the least of my worries if someone took my bike and ate shit
