From the word on the street (internet) the Fuji has crappier wheels and stem. The fame is decent but not real 'track' geometry, close though. The Pista has a little better wheels and true 'track' geo, although they are really common. Overall the Pista is a better bike for the price. I think the Fuji track is pretty ugly, and you could spraypaint (or powdercoat) the pista and it would look pretty decent (and not like every other chrome one on the street).

I have no idea about Sun Uno's.

You might want to check out www.irocycle.com as the MarkV and Angus are two of the most recommended low-end complete fixed gears. They have a nicer wheelset and arent as common as Pista's or that Fuji. As I said a couple posts ago, I'm thinkin about grabbing a White IRO Angus frame in a month or so.

i went way out of my way for a fuji track. i know you're not too hyped on it, but it was only 310, and new. so thats that. As for the frame. if i were to spray paint it, i would have to disassemble it right?

there an atalla track frame on ebay right now : ( and im broke : ( would be so sweet to swap all the campy parts onto the same manufacturers frame!!! gaaaah.
i think the most ironic part of all of this is how much daily i have to deal with japanese stuff (school, reading fashion mags, girlfriend on the phone) yet dont have anything remotely close to njs or even japanese.

Yep. But a bike is a bike and if it rides good and you dont mind how it looks then theres really no problem with it. Is it the Black and white one? Thats not that bad looking actually.

blue silver and white. i'm not a fan. but the bike rides sweetly. it comes witha flipflop hub so i got a freewheel and my friend and i are gonna put brakes on. Even he doesnt want to fuck up the brackets by taking them apart, just to paint. hmm

couple of wrenches (try to avoid using adjustables), a $4 dollar chain tool from walmart, a borowed set of hex keys and you should be able to take the mofo apart in about 20-30 min. hit it with 400 grit sandpaper (the wet kind, .. its black, use lots of water) after you take off any stickers, throw primer on, and do some coats of paint. not too tough!

i'm not concerned about that, i'm concerned about taking apart and putting back together the brackets

You could always get a Mercier Kilo TT for a few hundred cheaper, its just a rebadged Flite 100.

^^^ i had heard from a few sources that its basically a 100 with even worse parts, cant say for myself as i havent seen one. got any info on it?

i figure a 100 is an easy way into a built bike, i got to ride one, its really nice for normal riding around, and changing chainring/cogs wont be too tough at all.

i would however want some nice deep Vs on it cool but well see!

yeah it comes with crap.
Did you know the Flite used to come with Sugino 75's?!
It was a good deal back then.
I'll stick with my ghetto build till i can afford a nice track frame.

ive been riding for awhile now, and work as a bike messenger.. and its huge out here in SF.. and the Huf set are pretty much all riders.. just wondering if any of yall ride..

also it has pretty much lead light to a whole other way of dressing, not to mention the high volume of vans, due to ease of slipping into the toe clips..

just wondering about other areas

Just a little funny story, I was in this local bike shop a few weeks ago, and a little asian kid comes in with his dad... kid was all streetweared out and looking for a track bike as a birthday present or something. He was even talking about NJS parts. He couldnt have been over 20 either. I think I even saw a complete skateboard (that looked brand new) and a pair of SB's from last year sitting in the back seat of his car.. I swear.

No offense if it was any of you kids.
