You can usually find a bikes direct frameset on CL for that price.

I got a Motobecane messenger + bb, seat post, seat, headset and chain for $100.

I will soon have an OD amount of Randos and drop bars...

Selling the top set, wrapping the mid set... And I accidentally won another set on ebay this morning...

a highly overlooked topic on this thread so far, as is taut chain tension.

~Lefty

proper chain tension, perhaps. your chain should not be 'taut'.

la brakeless, orange 20, cynergy, etc. Lafixed is a great resource if you are looking for used parts. I scour it daily. There is a track specific shop near me, but I forget the name.

I borrowed a friends Leader for a couple weeks, and I can honestly say I enjoy the ride of my vintage Motobecane conversion a bit better... it could be the sentimental value of the bike though. The more bikes the better though, quit hatin kids cool

It probably has to do with the horrible geometry that leader has... Or you just like the flex of your bike.

smaller sized hours cannot. its kind of tricky. i'd say go for the mercier kilo. i used to have the hour, hated the decals. the mercier looks alot cleaner. fuck trick biking. get a bmx if you want to do that lol

Shame. One of the quickest ways to ruin a bike is stupid spoke patterns.

its a waste of money and its really not even that cheap. if you buy all their cheap stuff, you're still looking at about 700 with out a bb, crank, pedals, or chain. Unless you have the parts... I wouldn't even bother. The amount of completes you could buy for less than that makes me laugh.

Someone help me figure out this trade...

I got a single fixed Phil hub to Silver Deep V...

I want:

To trade my friend for his Double Fixed Phil hub w/ two Phil lockrings. He only paid $100 for it, shoulda been mine but I spent the money on other parts. So...

I COULD try to have him pick up a silver b43 to add... But I dont know if I want that rim on my Cannondale. Couldnt be too bad... But still not sure...

Do you know what you are talking about? The new Leader 2010 Track Frames are steel and I am sure you are referring to the older aluminum frames and their quality.

Also to all the guys that hate tricking on their fixed gear, have you tried it? It is amazingly fun, and a BMX bike would not get me as far as I need to go, so there is no need to hate on anyone as long as everyone is riding some sort of a bike.

Doesnt mean the brand doesnt suck.

The 721 was fuckin off... My friend has one, the axels are on the edge of the drop outs, and his tire is barely clearing the seat tube. Compared to a proper aluminum track frame (Cannondale,) it is a piece of shit, ride wise, and obviously design wise.

Massans rockin the 735, might be ok, Ive considered one, because they dont seem too far off from a FTP...

it still doesn't change the fact its an overpriced frame set. They market them deceptively cheap. btw, the model isn't 2010, thats the year in which the design came out. If you want a good cromo track frame get the new cromo langster. Its NJS stamped too.

B43s are way too heavy. The cross wind shouldn't matter since its on the back.

Massan rides a 725. And from the looks of it this years 725 is quite a bit better. If anyone can find me a better frame for 250-275 online, I'll look into it for sure!
