Melo dropping another 30+ points. Knicks still lost, but this guy is unstoppable.

I do what I do, just go with it Patriots - Knicks - Islanders - Chelsea

Who I think deserve the All-Star nod so far (with the new stupid backcourt/frontcourt format)

West Starters:
James Harden
Kobe Bryant
Kevin Durant
David Lee
Tim Duncan

Bench:
Russell Westbrook
Chris Paul
Stephen Curry
Dwight Howard
LaMarcus Aldridge
Kevin Love
Blake Griffin

East Starters:
Rajon Rondo
Kyrie Irving
LeBron James
Carmelo Anthony
Anderson Varejao

Bench:
Jrue Holiday
Kemba Walker
Dwyane Wade
Joakim Noah
Paul Pierce
Chris Bosh
Al Horford

and yes I realize thats not going to be anything close to what it will be since its a popularity contest but thats who I think deserves it so far in the season
December 23, 2012 @ 07:30:55
That's a pretty solid list.

CP3 deserves to start he's an MVP candidate imo. I'd also start Griffin over Lee. I don't think Kemba deserves a ASG bid; I'd take Z-Bo over Aldridge right now.

I'm a little baised but I'd swap Chandler with Varejao. I don't put too much stock in players putting up big numbers on awful teams. Plus, Tyson owned Varejao when he came to the Garden and Irving went crazy and dropped 40.

We're all in the same game, just different levels. Dealing with the same hell, just different devils

December 23, 2012 @ 18:33:29
CP3 and Griffin are definitely going to be starters (along with Dwight). I definitely think Z-Bo is a better player than Aldridge and that Chandler is a better player than Varejao but so far this season I definitely think Aldridge has outplayed Z-Bo, and Varejao has outplayed Chandler (minus that Cavs vs Knicks game) and I think all-star nods should reward players for how they played this season (even though thats not really what happens).

as for kemba if you think about it the eastern conference guards are really weak and it was hard for me to think of a fifth guard. I don't think DWill or Lowry deserve a spot.

Z-Bo is putting up 16 & 12 though... Aldridge is putting up points but only 8 boards and his team has a worse record. Varejao imo is putting up garbage pail numbers. Just stuffing stats on a crappy team, same thing K-Love did last year so I guess he'll get a ASG nod.

No way Kemba makes the ASG. He's not beating out Wade,Irving,Rondo,or Holiday that's 4 guards right there Wade isn't playing a forward. As awful as Brooklynette's Point Fraud D-Will is playing I'd even put him over Kemba. He's definitely having a borderline breakout season though.

We're all in the same game, just different levels. Dealing with the same hell, just different devils

December 26, 2012 @ 02:40:08
I don't think Kemba will make the all-star game, I just think he should be the 5th guard (since there will only be 5). For how I made that list was how well I think those players are playing and how big of an impact they are having on every game. So that's why I think Aldridge is over Z-Bo by a slight margin (if Z-Bo gets picked I ain't even mad).

There isn't any metric just what I "feel" I guess.

And yeah DWill is a huge fraud. If you wanna talk numbers I drafted that scrub in the first round of my fantasy league and he has been ass.

Paul Pierce is too old for another All Star I think. I mean, he's still good, but in my opinion, there's better choices out in the east. That list is solid though, the Stephen Curry one is a hard one. Just as long as he doesn't hurt himself seriously this year he should have it. Tim Duncan also, he's probably too old for an All Star. Kemba isn't an All Star but maybe in a couple years he will be, I'd put Deron Williams, Paul George, or Monta Ellis (just my opinion). Maybe Bynum could be one, but that's highly doubtful I know.

From your list though, I'd say for the West starters would be:
Chris Paul
Kobe Bryant
Kevin Durant
Blake Griffin (Or Kevin Love)
Dwight Howard (Or LaMarcus Aldridge)

East Starters:
Rajan Rondo
Dwyane Wade
Carmelo Anthony
LeBron James
Al Horford

Age determines All-stars? I thought it was skill and current play. Deron Williams isn't an All-star unless you go by high school prom queen voting.

Since they released the second results returns it looks like the actual starters are going to be
Chris Paul
Kobe Bryant
Kevin Durant
Blake Griffin
Dwight Howard

Rajon Rondo
Dwyane Wade
Lebron James
Carmelo Anthony
Kevin Garnett

I still think it should be the same starters I posted before but with the benches replace Kevin Love with Zach Randolph (KLove is the best 4 in the league but he has been injured so many games and Z-Bo is playing out of his mind), and replace Chris Bosh with Josh Smith.

can't wait till the Allstar game.. Kevin Durant's break out allstar game
January 01, 2013 @ 10:27:49
All this hype over the All-star game...

Does it really matter? None of the players take it seriously, it just turns into a training session.
January 03, 2013 @ 00:34:12
Dwight don't even deserve to start, been sucking ass lately. Marc Gasol,Kevin Love, Durant, Griffin, Z-Bo. Any 3 of those guys should be in the starting frontcourt for the west.

WEST
CP3
Kobe
Durant
Griffin
(other player than Howard)

EAST
Kyrie Irving
Rondo/Wade
Lebron
Carmelo
Chandler or Varejao

Garnett doesn't deserve that starting spot over Noah or Chandler.

prepare to be disappointed.

Kevin Johnson got approval by the NBA Board of Governors to match any offer by Chris Hansen's Seattle group with a Sacramento based ownership group instead of to Chris Hansen. Deadline is April. The actual deal Chris Hansen's group is paying for 65% of the franchise is 340 million, not whoever reported 525 million (which is what 100% of the franchise was valued at). Ron Burkle said he would pay 400 million to keep the Kings in Sacramento.  Since the Maloof family owes 70 million dollars to the city of Sacramento and are selling the debt with the Kings, that means that the Burkle based group only has to match for under 300 million. Ron Burkle said he would pay over 400 million to keep the Kings in Sacramento. Luckily, he doesn't have to.

Still, isn't it pretty low for a Sonics fan to be happy about taking away a different city's team even if it isn't actually happening?
